Poor baby.

All that income, and no savings or plan if the money laundering operation was shuttered. She was in the top 5-10 percentiles of income for years (as well as her husband) and had ZERO translatable skills/connections apparently. At least she made the NYT though.

Thank you, Marco Rubio/DJT.

Sounds to me as if some pricey real estate will be under bank ownership soon.

Imagine being 57 when you discovered that you were always just the beneficiary of a grift scheme and your real market value was likely 1/10th of what you were led to believe.

Thats quite an adjustment to one's ego. Doesn't mean we should perpetuate a grift though.

Seriously. Grift says you're worth mid-six figures. Market says you're worth about the same as a line cook at an Applebees.

You can understand why they have always believed they're better than we are, though. As members of The Party, they have lived in a different world than the one we live in.

Did they qualify for a government pension? If so, you'd understand why they had no savings...they didn't need it. They'd get a fat pension for the rest of their lives off of a money laundering scheme, and given they probably never expected it to be shut down (because it is the government after all), they spent and spent and spent relying 100% on their pensions to be there when they decided to retire.

NGO's don't get federal employee benefits I believe. Still, the remarkable thing is that as the parent of mid-20's 'kids' this is basic 'plan for a financial/employment situation to arise' talks most of us go through, politics aside.

The thought of how much taxpayer money went to either paying these folks to do nothing or to actually subvert our Constitutional Republic is sickening.

The more of this I see, not only do I have zero sympathy, I find myself taking great satisfaction in these worthless hacks current situations.

The whole truckload of them are lucky not to either be in prison or have to pay it all back.

**** like this is why I don't think USAID will ever truly go away. It'll get a new name and "just cause" and continue to rob the American taxpayer.

I don't think that one's accurate. Nick has never posted anything about her/that, believable though it is.

I wish Trump/Rubio etc. would go on the war path about NED, where Victoria Nuland still works today, among other scum bags.

I took that post at face value just before I walked out the door this morning. Considering all the obsurdity that has shadowed USAID, I didn't think it was all that crazy (which is sad).. Thank you for looking into it.

Rubio testified yesterday to the counter-productive nature of using NGO's who ran policies/operations often at odds with US goals/objectives via USAID, and the state-to-state compacts replacing this horrible 'system' being much more effective.

And btw, Zeldin revealed yesterday he (EPA) had made several criminal referrals of NGO's who got desperation Jan 2025 $20 billion grants. I expect many were also doing 'business' (or planning to) abroad as per above:

Quote:

Group says Biden shoveled billions to left-wing interest groups on exiting the White House
Judicial Watch has sued to try to get more information about the grant. "As the Biden administration was collapsing in 2024, it lawlessly rushed out billions in cash to left-wing interest groups in a way that encouraged fraud and abuse. The Trump EPA team should disclose and expose every single document about this massive Biden corruption scandal," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.

Zeldin's quest for accountability began in spring 2025 when his agency revealed that Biden rushed out $20 billion in the greenhouse gas reduction fund to be held in an account by the New York-based Citibank, with just eight nonprofits having the right to spend it.

EPA asked the IG to investigate, providing in its letter several transactions that raised concerns, including that:
  • Jahi Wise, the former director of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, "personally oversaw" a $5 billion grant to his previous employer;
  • The $2 billion was given to the Abrams-tied Power Forward Communities.
  • Young, Gifted & Green was awarded $20 million, even though its CEO applied for funding while serving on the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council.
You can read the EPA's letter here.
epaigrequest030225.pdf
The $20 billion in funding has been canceled, but it is tied up now in federal court litigation. To date, no major criminal prosecutions have been brought against grant recipients.

Nada impact.

So much for those hysterical claims from last year, oh wait, the shameless propagandists continue to make the baseless claims;

As Elon posted on the 23rd:
Quote:

All DOGE required was contact information of the recipients to confirm that funding was not fraudulent. No validated medical funding was stopped.

Anything that appeared to be legitimate lifesaving funding continued and is now administered by the State Department.

If anyone had actually died as a result of DOGE, their names would be worldwide headline news!

On the other hand, USAID did help fund the Wuhan Virology Institute, which caused the deaths of millions, and the revolution that started the Russia-Ukraine war.

This thing's been closed for over a year now and yet leaks as to the subterfuge/lies it spewed are still just coming out.

And there's still more to cut from State. Global aids treatments/prevention are not US taxpayer's responsibility.

Zero out foreign aid spending until such a (mythical) time as the nation is debt free and has a balanced budget, imho.

DR has a great piece about USAID and South Sudan (sniping at ridiculous NYT Kristof piece that lies about it).
Quote:

The Audit, Then the War
Five months before the civil war, USAID's Inspector General audited the Deloitte contract. Deloitte's monitoring system "did not capture the kind of information on which to base any conclusions." The flagship nation-building program had no functioning way to measure whether it worked. Deloitte was gaming metrics when the target for legislation was 90, they changed the target to 60. There were $601,990 in ineligible costs, and $300,000 in fuel with no controls to track whether it was stolen.

USAID concurred with all seven recommendations from the report. Five months later, President Kiir accused Vice President Machar of a coup. The same Dinka-Nuer fault line that had produced the Bor Massacre twenty-two years earlier when Machar's forces killed thousands of Dinka civilians replayed at industrial scale. Approximately 400,000 died. Famine was declared in 2017, the first anywhere since Somalia 2011, during peak USAID spending. UNMISS had 12,500 authorized peacekeeper's; they were present during atrocities at Bentiu, Malakal, and the Terrain Hotel.

Who Gets the Oil

Today, South Sudan's oil is extracted by Chinese and Malaysian state-owned enterprises. China's CNPC holds 40 to 41 percent of both major consortiums. Malaysia's Petronas holds 30 to 40 percent. No Western company operates there US sanctions and the divestment campaigns that helped create South Sudan drove them all out. The companies that filled the vacuum faced no comparable pressure on human rights.

Every barrel flows north through pipelines to Port Sudan through Sudan, the country South Sudan voted to escape. Sudan collects transit fees on every barrel. The former oppressor takes a cut of every shipment.

Of roughly $4.1 billion in gross annual production, consortium partners take their profit shares, Sudan takes its transit fees, oil-backed loans consume hundreds of millions more, and elites divert the bulk of what remains. The UN documented $25.2 billion in total oil revenues since independence and found hardly any reached essential services. Much of it was stolen by the Kiir family; Kiir's twelve-year-old son held a 25 percent stake in a holding company.

The "Oil for Roads" scheme diverted billions the vast majority of promised roads were never built.
In other words, the financial system and oil sector bootstrapped by Deloitte, financed by USAID, ended up going into the pockets of BRICS countries and stolen by the US-backed Kiir family.
