No, I believe it was in the 35% range.

But since the costs of everything jumped like it did...I frequently saw a line item added, specifying the tariff cost.

And to be honest, I prefer this type of measure.

Once costs go up, it takes forever for them to come down...if they ever do. When they have a line-item listed like this, and the tariff goes away...so does the line-item cost. It's better for the consumer like this.
Well, so long as whatever increases happen because of the tariffs go back down to where they were prior, it'll make the tariffs worth it.

RE: to Science Denier

You just answered your own question. With the amount of data available it won't be hard to figure it out.

And I'd prefer the Trump admin spend their time on a well formulated and baked plan before firing it out on Truth Social and inciting chaos.

That's the idea, at least.

And I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

My only issue with the tariffs, is the long-term support. We want Manufacturing to come back. Great. Awesome. We all agree. So how do we support that long-term? Because I dont feel like investing tens of millions here, in hopes that we're going to continue to support US Manufacturing. What if the next guy rolls back the support?

Right? This is just silly (blaming Amazon). You can't directly tie increased costs directly related to inflation to any one single cause. But you sure can call out the (direct) cost increase of a tariff just as easily as you can calculate sales tax. There WILL be additional indirect costs you can't directly calculate as well but that's not what they are doing here - only the direct cost as a result off those tariffs. So you see less than 100% of the effect increased tariffs will cause but at least its a start.

So, you see a Chinese toaster on Amazon, its 20 bucks with an additional 30 bucks making it 50 dollars.

Then you see a toaster made in America, better quality. You buy that for 25.

America wins, you get a toaster, China suffers for 5 bucks more.

Now get this part, maybe American's start buying things they actually need and not tons of Chinese junk.

Don't worry, it's okay that you're getting unnecessarily charged extra money for goods because the multi-millionaire Fox News hosts who live in gated neighborhoods said so.
You need to go ahead and add the hosts from any other of the major news outlets to your post.

I'm kinda looking forward to seeing how this is displayed. Is it a blanket average across all goods? If so, that's useless and pointless.

If it's specific to an item you're viewing? I'm interested as hell in that. Give you a chance to calculate just how much markup you're being charged. Since the increase should only apply to the cost of the material itself, and not cost + markup.

They should be required to boldly, clearly, in your face display country of origin for all products.

When I see the name of the seller or the brand of the item on the Amazon listing, that's a pretty good indicator 99.9% of the time whether it's cheap china crap.

So the consumer can now see the amount of tariff the producer of the good is paying the USA, and the consumer can consciously "reimburse" that producer by paying the increased price. Non issue to most people, and China's dirt cheap goods are now just a little less cheap.

And as mentioned, there will be instances the consumer can find a lesser priced, higher quality, domestically produced item. Other than fake liberal outrage about cheap goods being slightly less cheap, I don't see a problem.

I won't be. Well, maybe. If they are lying about how much the tariffs cost, then the government can go after them. And, since this only is about trying to highlight a leftist narrative of "let's get Trump", I hope Trump goes after them with both barrels.

I see why you think that, but I disagree.

I'd much rather than add a fee (like many many suppliers are starting to do), which can easily and transparently be removed...rather than being a cost baked in that might or might not be fully removed at a later date.

At least this way, you can accurately compare the cost of the goods itself, to see if the price was raised. This matters once the tariffs are gone.

This is much more transparent, and it's not unique to Amazon in an effort to punish Trump. I'd say 60% of my suppliers are doing this, and the number will continue to go up until the tariffs are done.

I enjoy how some posts and posters are attempting to gleefully point out how terrible Trump is. How he is, supposedly, ruining America.

As though the anti-American, neo-Marxists who allowed more illegal aliens into the US than the population of many states, violent criminals and illegals to run free, promoted violence against their opposition (against a Supreme Court Justice no less - "you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won't know what hit you"), lied about a demented puppet President, colluded with businesses and the media to propagandize the nation and win elections, pushed false accusations and trumped up charges while engaging in the exact criminal activity they accused the opposition of, racial animosity, riots, promoting neo-Marxism in education, engaged in the most corrupt money laundering scheme in history . . .

are so much better.

The left only wins when they lie to the public. Countless examples of this over many years.

Telling someone exactly how much a tariff costs per each item is impossible to prove. And, since this has never been done under any administration, the left is going to continue to lie to the public about this. It's only to support a narrative and not based in actual fact.

I hope when this is rolled out, deceptive trade practices, false advertising and whatever else is at the disposal of Trump's team is used.

Your premise of "Amazon lays it out plainly for everyone to see" is just false, as it really can't be done.
