So, guy had an outstanding warrant, was detained, went through judicial process, and was allowed to stay. Next.

Then, Cleona Ward, detained in Tacoma Washington. Also detained over a previous drug conviction not properly legally cleared, then had her case dismissed.

None of this is dispositive. I don't want felony drug crime or violent crime offenders with outstanding warrants allowed to come and go without any judicial process, especially those who are not US citizens.

If you're here as a guest, follow the law. If you break the law and get into legal jeopardy, don't whine about it when it isn't properly resolved quickly and you are later detained over the records.

Is it appropriate to whine when they are scrutinizing a criminal history from a decade or more ago, including minor offenses and dismissed charges, and incarcerating these people for months at a time? Or is that still not OKAY? And if they didn't have habeas corpus then none of it could be disputed.

I am fine with CBP/customs scrutinizing criminal history, yes. The judicial system is not just a holiday inn express, or jimmy john's.

It's slow, something conservatives have often lamented the past few months, btw.

J6 gulag prisoners were treated much more harshly for years, just fyi.

FWIW, we're talking about the Executive, not the Judicial branch. The Judicial branch is the branch that most people here have been complaining about for restraining the Executive branch.

I didn't say article II vs. III. The shortage of immigration judges is deliberate. He was detained under Biden, and released under Trump. That's the hilarity. Never were his rights violated, from what we know, and it is an absurdity to cite his 2 month confinement as some sort of damning 'incident' as to Trump.
