Bull crap. Cruz made a career of cross examining people. He finally got a taste of his own BS and he couldn't hack it.

Cruz made a career out of asking pertinent relevant questions.

Well, I believe asking whether his politics are influenced by the the State of Israeli lobby are pertinent and relevant. I also think asking him why we have 100s of billions to send around the world, but we are falling apart at home is pertinent and relevant.

Safe, free and effective!

You aren't allowed to ask those kinds of questions. We have no responsibility and can't afford to provide kids free to them breakfast or lunch at school because it's their parents responsibility to feed them, however we are absolutely supposed to defend Israel and Ukraine because it's our responsibility to defend them……somehow.

Such a stupid straw man.

I like Ted, but if you're going to use scripture for an answer like that you better know what you're referring to. I don't think Cruz is a 'Give a blank check to Israel' type, but that answer kind of comes off that way.

But the Death Star meme was a great response, because that was a ridiculous 'gotcha' question from Tucker.

I get Tucker's big picture point. No, we shouldn't blindly support any ally or assume we should go to war just because something is happening across the world. But he's being way too snarky in his approach in the spats with Levin and Cruz. He's not helping his cause. I can understand the side that thinks we should constantly question what our govt tells us and not be so quick to jump into wars. I also understand it's not a black and white issue though.

The present version of Israel, formed in 1948, is not the Israel that the Bible describes. I don't know why that's such a hard distinction for people to make. They're not the same thing at all.

Tucker was completely full of **** during that segment. As Cruz said, AIPAC does not lobby on the behalf of the Israeli government. They are an interest group that advocates for strong U.S.-Israel relations, and really have a very limited scope of influence.

The reason Tucker immediately pulled out the antisemitism defense is because he knows he's being an antisemite. "Just asking questions" about those subversive Jews, though.

Disagreed. He pressed Cruz hard on the obvious nature of AIPAC being a foreign lobbying group and Cruz was clearly squirming about it.

AIPAC was literally founded by an Israeli lobbyist as a branch of the American Zionist Council. AZC eventually dissolved as it was forced to register as a foreign lobbyist group, and AIPAC has effectively filled this role since then. The claim they have limited scope of influence is so absurd I'm not even sure how to respond. They run basically the entire GOP besides Thomas Massie and maybe one or two others.

Similar to how the GOP works for the interests of the other donors in those other various fields of governance.

It doesn't take much thought to come to the conclusion that a strong Israel is in our interests more than a weak Israel, especially given the character of their enemies. There are very few reasons that someone wouldn't come to that conclusion that don't go into some dark places. No lobbying PAC changes that.

AIPAC spent $52 million in 2024, in order to receive $3.8 billion per year.

That $52 million is 1.3% of the $3.8 billion that Israel receives.

That is an amazing return on the investment.

Supportive =/= beholden.

Tucker is also right about spying. We should not allow any foreign nation to spy on us, regardless if they're an ally.

I like Tucker in general, always have. But I kind of wonder if maybe he abused too many heavy psychedelics back in his youth as a rich trustafarian hedonist going to Grateful Dead shows. He is getting pretty nutty on some things. i.e. he thinks there are aliens visiting us but that they are spiritual beings from Heaven.

Well he was right. The real war mongers have the radical Islamic jihadist movement whether they be Sunni, (ISIS/Al Queda/Bin Laden or the Shia, Iran, Hezbollah, Muslim Brotherhoo/dArab Spring. (John brennan is a Muslim by the way as is Barak and Valeri Jerrod and a lot of the left)

Yet Bibi is called the war monger when all of these groups, especially the Hamas have redundantly stated and acted to wipe Israel out 'from the rive to the sea. And yet Israel is the war mongers.

Nice stat. The Obama administration sent $1.7 billion in cash to Iran, then the Biden administration freed up over $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets for no apparent reason. And Iran doesn't even have a PAC.

I'd argue that was an even better return on investment.

Don't get me started on the Bidens and Ukraine and/or China.

From Grok:

Claims suggesting he converted to Islam, often tied to his time in Saudi Arabia or comments about Islam, stem from rumors and misrepresentations. Brennan has publicly discussed his Catholic upbringing, and his spokesman, Nick Shapiro, confirmed to the Associated Press that Brennan is not Muslim. A 2010 video where Brennan speaks Arabic about his Middle East experiences was falsely circulated as evidence of him professing a Muslim faith, but he makes no such claim. Sources like Snopes and AP News debunk these allegations, noting they originate from unverified sources like former FBI agent John Guandolo.

Guess I'm not the "fool" here.

And by the way, I abhor John Brennan. Just believe in sticking to truth, as there are plentiful accurate criticisms of that POS. Unfortunately, Q Anon silliness like this takes away from those legitimate condemnations. Common on this board, unfortunately.

Even thing Brennan DID in his role as CIA and with Obama was pro Islamic.

I judge by the fruit. Not what Grok says or even he said after the fact. I do think that the Catholics since Vatican 2 consider Islam a legitimate religion.
