Maybe keep politics out of religion. Wouldn't that be nice

As a Christian you can't separate your politics from your beliefs

The Orthodox and Catholic churches were the only Christian Churches (of any note at all) during the Crusades. So it was ALL Christians. Sorry to burst your Protestant bubble if you think the Baptist were laying low.

So you are agreeing with them that war is bad now? Or are you mad at them for saying that war is bad when you think it is good? I'm not sure what you're expecting them to say. Can they not learn from their lessons?

Outside of fringe Christian beliefs, which American protestants have pretty much all of them, war should be condemned. (if I have to quote scripture on that then I don't think we're on the same planet)

Many Christians believe that you should be compassionate and generous to foreigners. As Isreal was once a foreign people and a foreign land. Exodus 13:2

Personally, I have my faults and I want them the **** gone.

I don't act the hypocrite and claim some weird justification for my political beliefs and separate them from my religious beliefs though.

I pray for my failings. Loving people is the hardest.

This is F16. Only "approved" religions are allowed to have leaders speaking their mind on politics. Are you new here?

I've never been to an evangelical church that discussed politics in 46 years. If they had, I wouldnt have been back. I did attend mass on and off with my ex for 20 years and heard politics discussed many times.

Maybe they talk politics from the pulpit at high-church Protestant Services. But can't say I've ever been to one.

Also, I know you get your cassock in a ruffle anytime F16 criticizes your Church. Maybe you should check out the R&P board, aka the Protestants are heretics and going to hell board. Might be good for you to realize that your particular brand of Christianity isn't always the victim.

Is this some sort of joke? I defend the Holy Roman Catholic Church where warranted, but when F16 attacks the Pope for not sanctioning and cheerleading a war………
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

Born and raised a Catholic, baptized, first communion, first confession, confirmation....all of it...

I try to be a good Christian and a good person, all of the time. I fail at that, constantly.

I never use religion to determine my politics of conservativism. I use logic. Logic dictates that a conservative ideology is the only way to live. Liberalism is ruhtarded.

Gotta go back centuries, and guess what? The Pope controlled many invading armies. They were brutal at times. I'm Catholic and always ignore Vatican commentary regarding politics. Modern day they can't be expected to say anything other than messages of peace and stop all wars. Not a bad thing if bad actors all behaved. But not reality.

60 minutes runs a slant piece with literally the three most liberal bishops in the Catholic Church, and Protestant mouth breathers run with it.

Meanwhile, Trump is posting "Pope Leo is weak on crime" and following it up with a picture of himself as Christ.

Starting to think the progcaths may be right about him being the antichrist.

Protestants will moan and tend their garments over the pope's role as vicar of Christ, but not when Trump literally shows himself as Christ

Given he path the Catholic Church is going down, it is likely the ***** of Babylon in Revelations.

If you've actually read the book of "Revelation" (not revelations) you'd realize that the ***** of Babylon was the secular Roman government under the pagan Nero.

Look forward to hearing about your eisegesis on other books of the Bible which don't exist.

It is a crazy world we live in when people contort themselves to state the Pope and Catholic church are woke liberals.

It is also crazy to think 60 Minutes had to shop to find three liberal priests. The church would have decided on a very clear, unified message and handpicked the priests best suited to convey the message.

The episode was exactly what the church wanted to communicate. It wasn't three rebellious priests. It was a focused message.

And that was the entire point by the 60 Minutes producers.

It's equivalent to CNN showing a ticker of a plummeting stock market and rising gas prices since we blew Kohmeini's head off the face of the earth and then suddenly removing the running tickers off their broadcasts the day after the ceasefire was announced and the Dow went up 1,300 points and oil plummeted $20 a barrel.

None of these people act in good faith. But those three bishops are most definitely libtards and give the Catholic church a bad name along with their newly annointed Pope.

Pope Leo is further to the right of Trump on Divorce, LGBT issues, and abortion. He also appears to be more "America first" on the Iran war and Gaza situation as well.

All an outcome of Leo meeting with Axelrod, imho. The globalist faction of the RCC (including but not limited to Catholic Charities are furious they had their money machine via USAID cut off.

We're not funding the middlemen any longer, which infuriates the middlemen.

Just a friendly reminder…as a staunch conservative and Catholic. The Church is neither republican or democrat. It does not fit into either box…as frustrating as that can be for me at times.

Yes but it's also very easy to find conservative priests (how hard would it have been to go ask Vigano something about these thoughts?), which of course 60 minutes had no interest in hearing from.

Nor did they raise any substantive concerns from 'the other side' of the political aisle, including obvious contradictions related to the faithful's suffering at the hands of illegal aliens committing violent crime at a much higher rate than Americans, or concerns about abortion, 'euthanasia' etc.

Just a couple political pals, Prevost and Pritzker.

True. But the people involved often do.
