He keeps wanting his pat on the back for having the highest paid QB in the league instead of taking note of what's so wrong with that

Fired up is quite the spin.

He threatened their jobs for asking him why the Cowboys didn't do more over the summer to improve the team through free agency.
"Do I look stupid to you? Huh? Do I look stupid to you"

Reporter should have said, " You look old, but you look football stupid to me"

Jerry is cracking. Might be for the best to get this organization out of this quagmire.

I'm concerned about the coaching situation here next year.

McCarthy could go someplace else and make just as much money. Why would he stay?
Belichick, Vrabel, Ben Johnson will have plenty of other options. Do they want to sign up for this?

Remind again how many owners have their own weekly radio show anywhere? He wants the spotlight, he got the spotlight.

Why would we want McCarthy to stay? They should have canned him before the season started.

As a non Cowboy fan I'm curious to what the future of the org look like after Jerry goes?

I assume Steven takes over but will be be owner and GM just like his old man or will he hire his own guys to run the front office?

I'm just a curious outsider

Jerry got exactly what he wanted with that clip this morning. Every sports station and show is now talking about him and the Cowboys and in his eyes Any publicity is good publicity. He will come back next week and apologize to them and say he lost his cool because he cares so much and wants to win so much and this has been really hard on him. It's a never ending cycle with him running the team.

I fully expect it Stephen to run things exactly like Jerry. Business as usual

What an absolute POS response. I've never thought Jerry was a terrible person in spite of everything but responses like this sure test that. The audio is wayyy worse than the transcript.

He sounds like the kinda dictator that would off reporters if given the chance. Like his buddy King MBS of Saudi did that Washington Post reporter.

An arrogant know nothing know it all. Mr "Capoligist" who gets worked by most every other team in the cap every year. And how many times can that dude be caught on TV picking his teeth during games?

The cowboys media would keep telling us it will be better when Stephen takes over, and he would be different.
Last few years seems to say otherwise, but I guess we wont truly know until it happens.

Idk about that. I think if Jerry were to kick the can tomorrow Stephen would do things differently than his father. Now, would that be better, worse or the same as what it is now I'm not sure, but I do thin in Stephen would do things differently.

I'm going to be honest, I don't know if I can stay a Cowboys fan as long as the Jones family owns and GMs the team. I'd probably just casually watch football and pull for underdog teams like the Lions ( I know they're one of the top teams now but they haven't been)

By most public accounts Stephen is the ultimate filter on all moves made. I've also posted this before but I'm related to someone who worked in both the Giants and Jags front office and they've told me Stephen Jones is by all intents and purposes the real GM of the team.

Agree completely. To be honest though, I've been watching less and less NFL over the years. I'm like you though, and will pull for Detroit and Dan the rest of the way.

I was born post-96 so I've never experienced any real Cowboys success. I actually have way more faith that A&M will compete for a natty before the Cowboys ever sniff a SB again.

Agreed on the A&M part and I "saw" the dynasty in the 90s but was too young to really remember it

I totally believe that. Between Jerry's age and other non-football distractions, I bet he makes few actual football decisions.

A while back I made the change from "fan" to "follower". I get just as much entertainment when they lose as when they win and the drama is great to watch. It's a lot more enjoyable now.

Fun reminder, the Cowboys traded Amari Cooper away in 2022 for fifth and sixth round picks.

The following year, the Cowboys traded fifth and sixth round picks for Brandin Cooks.

Amari Cooper is still productive and was just moved for a third and a late round pick swap.

2 wideouts change teams today for little more than 3rd round picks but Jerry's too busy arguing with radio hosts.....

Not that it'd make anything better with the joke of a running game this team has, but it would at least be a little cushion for CeeDee......

But, I guess you couldn't afford that, huh Jerry

Although adding weapons on offense would help a bit, the issue with this team is, has been and will continue to be the defensive line. They quite honestly might be the worst collection of players in the entire league, and until the Dallas front office gets serious about addressing that area, it doesn't matter what they do.

I think I fit this description as well, though I would still call myself a Cowboys fan. I live in Los Angeles and haven't been to an NFL game in person in probably 20 years. I was in town visiting my younger brother and two nephews this past weekend and we went to the game.

Obviously the result was terrible, but attending the game was fun for the kids, so that made me happy. The boys got their nachos, popcorn and sodas and got their souvenirs at the game. The younger nephew is 8 years old and was waving his towel and dancing every time the video screen showed the home fans cheering. We had a good parking pass and left after the 3rd quarter so getting home was easy.

So I think that's where I'm at with this team. They are still my team and I will cheer for them, but the organization is a mess under the Jones family ownership and I no longer get too bent out of shape when seasons like this one happen.

Or even better, just don't trade him to Cleveland and there would not be a need for a weapon at WR2 to begin with.

I agree (in response to Tksymm7)... a quick look at the play-by-play, I counted 8 runs of 10+ yards for Detroit in that game. The term "gashed" doesn't even describe how bad that is!!!!!!!

Absolutely NO reason to trade away draft capital right now. It appears this years team is done.

The Jones family has ALWAYS gotten worked on trades going back to the Joey Galloway deal. The only good trades the Cowboys made I can really remember that stand out under Jones ownership was the Haley trade (practically won em the Super Bowl), and of course Herschel before that . But Jimmy was probably the mastermind on both. It feels like other teams are always getting better deals and value than the Cowboys are.

Everything I have heard about him is that his arrogant in all his negotiations with players and other teams; always trying to "win" the negotiation. It always backfires on him and Jerry has to swoop in and save the day on lots of them. From my understanding it doesnt help the players dont really like him like they do Jerry.

Yep, Stephen's reputation is "you call me, I don't call you" when it comes to negotiations with agents on these deals. He seems to be the main reason these drag out and also why the team has not been active in FA.

Jerry threw the kitchen sink at an inept QB. It won't matter what he does until Dak is gone.

Be prepared for the circus to continue for awhile. That contract is fresh

Inept QB is so over the top.

Most quarterbacks are not going to be successful when their team has an awful defense, Jalen Tolbert as their WR2, a mediocre offensive line, and no running game.

Show me one quarterback with a comparable situation that is succeeding right now.

Which QB is 5-0 and which QB is 3-3
A: 1600 yards 8 TDs and 6 Ints
B: 1250 yards 6 TDs and 6 Ints (top 3 o-line)
