Jerry and entire Jones family is pretty blind to what is going on, but when the Cowboys start getting flexed out or primetime slots it's going to be hard to ignore. This sort of thing is what Jerry cares about the most, and when his team is out of the light completely, he'll know.

Jerry can't see the very clear writing on the wall.

He's made some really bad decisions over the last 18 months. The response to the curtain situation shows he's oblivious at this point.

Not saying he has to sell, but he has to step back and let the professionals step in and run football Ops, not him or his family.

nothing is changing any time soon. They will blame this terrible season on key injuries, hire a hot young coach, draft a new star with the high first rounder and start selling the new era.

Guys. I took my daughters for a walk today during the game. Beautiful weather. Much better use of time.

This. I haven't watched a full cowboy game this season and probably won't (first season ever). It was too nice outside. Went for a motorcycle ride with a buddy around 3. When I got home, played catch outside with my boys and then grilled for dinner. Much better time spent. I came inside, caught up with key plays and that was enough for me to see what another **** show it was.

Jerry sucks and he is losing a lot of support here in DFW. Rightfully so.
Is he really now? Stadium still full? Ratings still high?

Doubt he makes any changes.

Cowboys traded a 4th round pick last year for Trey Lance who apparently can't beat out Cooper Rush. What was the point of that? Just giving away draft picks for no reason. The 49ers seem happy with the guy they picked in the 4th round: https://www.reddit.com/r/49ers/comments/1ggmg2r/halfway_through_the_season_is_malik_mustapha_the/

Then it appears the Cowboys have done it again by trading a 4th round pick for a guy with no accomplishments in Mingo. This could easily turn out to be a ~Top 100 pick in the draft. These guys are flailing at this point and it is only going to get worse committing so much money to an injured 31-year old QB.

I'm here too. I went from 1983 to 2009 when my wife had cancer without missing a single quarter of Cowboys football. We are talking 3-13, 1-15. Then again 2010 - 2023 without missing a full game. I have completely checked out on this organization now. It's super frustrating when us as fans can see answers and solutions year after year and the Jones family cannot

Jerry Jones will not sell. He will not wanna risk the blow to his ego if another owner comes in and starts winning. Our best hope is Jerry kicks the bucket and his estate ends up in an inheritance mess like the 49ers and Dolphins a few years ago and the family is forced to sell
0% chance of this happening. I guarantee that Jerry has a very clear plan for ensuring family control after he's gone.

There is ZERO chance the Jones family ever sells in the foreseeable future. The brand is too intertwined with the family identity.
They'd be stupid to sell. Its not like the organization is losing money. They're the most valuable sports franchise on the planet and top 2nd place by like 20%

I think the only real hope is for this franchise to become less and less relevant over the coming months and years. If the Joneses team plays less and less primetime football, has less star players, begins to miss the playoffs consistently etc., then perhaps they would step back and let someone else try to fix it.

OR they would double down on their bad decisions, which is what they've historically done

True, but jerry is not going to live forever, so he won't have say eventually.

Supposedly the reason for lack of a curtain comes from the old Texas stadium where some old players, coach, or announcer said that god literally looks down on the cowboys thru the big hole in the middle of Texas stadium.

The old stadium was a massive dump, but we did win super bowls there and Jerry must want to preserve some way for "god to look down and see his team".

It's silly because the glare from the sun usually always hurts us more than the other team. I really hope we lose every game at this point and let mcclay go to work in the draft room.
I don't doubt you are correct, but he could just open the roof, which he never does for some reason.

Cost. At the end of the day, Jerry's a penny pincher.

No hot young coach is coming here, this program is toxic due to who runs it.

You'll get a retread at HC like Kellen.

Idk if this is true but if it is it's weird because he didn't used to be this way.

Personally I think it's a case of Stephen Jones (who by most accounts is the real personnel guy) insisting in trying to make himself always look like the smartest guy in the room and always failing miserably at it. He's got Daddy convinced he can win titles while saving money and Daddy just keeps buying into it every year. Stephen has no idea what he's doing and has no clear plan ever.

I think this is true. I also think and heard there are so many lawsuits against Jerry and company for bad behavior it has to be impacting the financial health. Between the poor decision making and the fact that he has so many other business deals (not all can be a hit) I certainly believe there is a cash flow issue.

Two years ago I hired a guy to my team who at the same time was interviewing for a position with the Cowboys (finance role). He had 2 interviews with them and got an offer, but turned them down to take our offer. He said the personal drama and dysfunction oozed from the interview, especially the 2nd one. They were not shy about it.

What's interesting to me is that I don't recall a bunch of plays where the sun interfered with the other team. I just don't remember saying "the sun saved us on that one!" very many times.

But I can recall BUNCH of times where it screwed up one of our plays... a few of which were interceptions that we dropped because we couldn't see.

Just another example of AT&T NOT being home team friendly!

People scampering in like rats to watch a 3-3 team with a backup QB play.

Yeah…… Jerry's going to be hurting soon!

I still remember a game where we played the giants and still had Jason witten where we lost at home and all the radio was talking about was the excuses our receivers gave for not being able to catch the ball because of the glare / light.

This thing hurts us way more than the other teams by a mile for some reason.

Because other teams just run it down the cowboys throat from the 25 since the stadium opened while the cowboys have to pass it. The team is a finesse team, always has been since the turn of the century.

from a 2017 article:

Quote:

In 2016 the Arlington City Council agreed to allow the city and the Texas Rangers to partner in building "Texas Live!," the $200 million entertainment district that stands between Globe Life Park and AT&T Stadium.
HKS, the Dallas-based firm that designed AT&T Stadium, knew that designing the stadium meant looking into the future. Executive Vice President Bryan Trubey addressed the issue head on last year as a guest on The Ticket.
Trubey called the development of the stadium a master plan that will "play out some day and the alignment between the stadium and the ballpark is one of the key elements to the entire master plan."
Quote:

"When you get to the west side of the stadium, when we get the higher densities there, when you have 14-, 15-story buildings, which is not out of the realm of possibility, it's a completely different situation," Trubey said.
He explains that the end zones were specifically left open because the impact of the sun "won't be fractional once the entire area is developed." This way, the district and the stadium itself will hold their highest value.
Leave it to Jerry Jones to turn the sun into a business decision. But seriously, looking at this completely missed catch by Brice Butler on Sunday really makes you wish Jerry would put up some curtains on the east and west end zones. Maybe a little window/mirror tint?
Death Star sun angle reasoning

because maybe, one day,
I wanna see our defense pissed off, not confused, maybe a little murder in their hearts Reload12, 11/4/11
