At first I was like 'cool four month trust turnaround', but then I was like 'my first paper form 4 trust was 4 months'

That was after efile stopped and before 41f

Good news is that it drops off at my front door. I think I understand it like this. CA will get 4473 approval (i submitted thismorning). Then they will certified mail documentation to LEO once paperwork is processed (probably 2-3 days, then 3-4 days for mail to arrive). Then I believe the LEO has to acknowledge receipt, where they're given a week. Once the week is up or the LEO acknowledged receipt, CA can ship.

I understood the extra time going in, and they had the models in stock when I was ready to buy. From card swipe to in hand, these ones will take ~4.5 months. My last ones purchased locally took almost a year.

Individual. I wanted it in hand asap. I'll keep it that way for a bit and transfer it to family trust later. I'll have to pay for a stamp again, but it will remain in my possession, which is cool. I'm hoping they make the trust timelines short and this is the new normal for all suppressors, SBRs, etc.

Cool! I did individual on my most recent can hoping the same thing. Over a month already and still waiting. If it ends up being a few months, I'll just continue to go the trust route so I don't have to jack with the transfer later on. Fingers crossed I get this thing soon.

This is the same government that wants to run healthcare....

That sucks. The gun store took the photos and fingerprints in house and helped me do the eform. Maybe that helped with it? Not sure, but for some reason they are coming back really fast lately I'm hearing.

This one was Individual, but I have another one in a trust. Fast turnaround times are only happening with individual

Trust in theory helps with estate planning and would allow multiple people to have ownership of the item. My understanding is that legally my wife couldn't go out and use this suppressor without me being present. But the one that is in the trust that we are members of she could use it anytime.

Individual on this one. My other stuff is in a trust. I'll transfer this one to the trust eventually and pay another $200. I just know the individuals are getting approved really fast right now, so I can have it now and possess it the entire time I'm waiting for it to transfer to family trust…that was worth an extra $200 to me.

Famous covered the pros/cons from my perspective. Family Trust allows more members of our family to own and possess them, including kids once they're of age.

When you say individual, do you mean you did all the paperwork or did something like a "single shot"?

So speaking of trusts, what is the process for adding somebody to a trust? Right now my trust is just me, with my wife as heir to the trust. How easy is it to add her as a member of the trust?

Honestly, I don't know, but it's an individual file via Silencer Shop system. I had already done all their paperwork, fingerprints, photos, etc for family trust, so this was a simple process to file individually. I didn't have to do any other/new paperwork or pay for anything other than the can and the stamp.
