What about a repo man?

If you go break the lock and get your machine back, what's the legal consequence other than trespassing?

So, what's this piece of equipment you sold and he took?

Have you by chance checked with the local Kubota dealer to see if they can get the precise current location of it through their telematics?

Just looked up the guys name and he has a mug shot from 12-10-25 for theft.

If he's running an extortion scheme and just trying to get ransom money from you - I'd say that you are fortunate - normally I'd say your equipment is speaking Spanish by now; but maybe that's not his end game. Honestly, I'd be impressed if he's found little loophole to exploit and play in the gray area between criminal and civil…. And less surprised if he's found an assistant DA & local police chief who will play along.
I'm out of pocket a few days but if you would, shoot me an email to my username at gmail.com. I'm local; I'll go poke around.

Post it with his name and address. And don't forget to email Centerpole 90.

You should just go follow that guy until he is doing something random out in town then confront him with a baseball bat.

Bringing a bat to a gun fight is a really stupid way to die.

Know a family with a large construction company and they have trackers on all their equipment. When something is stollen, they go get it. Last time I asked their stolen backhoe had gone to a storage yard in Eagle Pass. They roll up the next day with a truck and trailer, tell the storage yard guy that is their equipment and give him a paper with the vin, make and model. So far, they have always been told that the equipment just appeared overnight and to take it if it's theirs. Not sure if it's because of the shotguns they carry on shoulder slings.
They said dealing with law enforcement in Harris County is a complete waste of time for stolen vehicles and equipment.

Sacure Haul and Quality Learing Center … two places to avoid for sure.
I'm sorry you are dealing with this but following this one like the fencing story and portal activity.
Just to add some dimensions.
1. Roughly how much was the skid steer sold for ?
2. What's the fare a hauler would earn hauling a skid steer from Dallas to the pan handle?
3. The freight or hauling broker … what's his take in this transaction?
4. What cash has exchanged hands at this point?
5. How's your buyer doing?
Thanks again for sharing.
Mr. Frodo said:
So the buyer hasn't paid anything … he was to pay at delivery?
What is the hauler asking you to pay him directly?
What are the specifics on your arrangement with the broker? Does he take possession of the machine when you contract with him to haul it?
