You are likely correct. In my early 50s, almost mid-50s in a few months, I don't recall things like I used to. I fondly remember the game store and Waldenbooks. My granny used to like to eat at the cafeteria there.

Mall opened in 1982. My older sibling worked there.
I was like 9 when it opened, and lived in the neighborhood behind Plantation Oaks. It had a McDonald's and a Chick-Fil-A. I think it had a pizza place - Sbarro, and that became Roman Delight later.
Compared to the malls I was used to, that's newish

My first job was Corn Dog 7. A good fresh battered and fried corn dog is wonderful.
And the fresh squeezed lemonade was excellent. I was sad when they went away from that.

I got you beat by a few years. 57 here. But I moved here in 1989, so I wasn't as young as you were then. It was Giovanni's in 1989, for sure. But it *could* have been something else prior.
Whacked out Wiener at the mall makes them fresh like that.

Site plans also submitted for a small development at the corner of Greens Prairie and Royder Road. Plans call for a gas station/convenience store, along with a small drive through restaurant and 1,250 square feet of retail.

The site plans do not indicate that it is TXB or any other brand for that matter. It is just referred to as the Royder Ranch Convenience Store.
I haven't seen a TXB that is part of a larger building with additional retail and a drive through restaurant, however. Not saying it can't be a TXB, but I believe TXBs are usually standalone buildings.

They are right across the street from one another in downtown Bryan and they both do fine.
I'm well aware. Which is why I find it funny that their other location all the way across town is also right next to Rx.
