The Boonville H-E-B has been rumored for years and years. Every single year TA hypes it up as "groundbreaking within a year" or whatever. It may happen, but it's not much more than a rumor at this point.
They have already started ground work. It has just stopped.

They did buy the property, have a site plan that they are marketing for commercial spaces, and someone did pay to put in the FM 158 infrastructure needed for it. Not sure if this puts it still in the rumor category but it is about as close to a real deal as it can be at this point.

I haven't been over there lately. Have they moved beyond clearing the land and then stopped or just cleared the land and stopped.
I've seen a significant gap between land clearing and start of construction, but I have also seen projects die at that stage. The land next to Olive Garden that was supposedly becoming another putt putt golf was cleared and then appears to have died.
For the last 4 months, every couple of weeks it looks like something small is going on but I wouldn't call it "construction." I kind of wonder if they are waiting for the stop light installation to actually start construction. That area would be nightmare with construction and no stop light.
The Chapter 380 Agreement allows for the HEB to be completed in seven years from when the agreement was signed, which was in 2023, meaning they would have until 2030. Y'all hang tight.

Kettle was a destination where you knew you were going to park and go inside and sit a while.

Fast food/drive-thru needs easy access. That location is not as easy to access as most other fast food locations.
Add in that Weinerschnitzel is not a brand with mass appeal and I don't see it working. I like their food, but I don't see it being the right fit for that spot.

Salad and Go's failure isn't due to the location, basically the whole chain failed. They closed some 40 other locations with the College Station one and literally announced today that the other 32 stores in Dallas and Oklahoma (and that one in Waco) will close January 11th.
The access issues are real though.
They are but people who like wienerschnitzel are low key obsessed.

I have to disagree. That parking lot ties into all the other parking lots in the area. You can get to it from Texas Avenue by the hotel or Southwest Parkway by the old Fuzzy's Taco.

actually the arbys lot is fully repaired and quite nice
Looks like a second Lucky Goat location is coming to the area (first location is Jones Crossing). This is the Shops at Hudson Oaks, on University and Corporate Drive in Bryan. RNL Homes is also locating their headquarters in the new building next to this one.
