feels like temps have held steady (it was actually kind of coolish this AM) and dew points are in mid 60's. Hopefully that keeps the severity at bay. Maybe just lots of rain in the late afternoon/ evening with a squall line at frontal passage?

Things are still on the table for severe later. This first round didnt cool off the atmosphere at all and now the sun's out.
Will say for the metroplex I think the high wind and tornado threat has finished. Still a risk for down south ahead of the front as things warm.
For the metroplex hail and heavy rain are our primary risks later.

Nothing but a soaker it seems, the storms that came through earlier than anyone was predicting cooled it down and all we're getting is lots of good rain.

The Wunderground app showed 1" of rain when I glanced at it for today as of 6 am. It now shows .04".

1:50 PM: Cold front still making progress into Metroplex. Fortunately all the storms are behind the front. That usually removes the high wind risk and just keeps a lower hail threat going. Seemed like it was on the verge of hailing in northwest Frisco, but thankfully was just heavy rain & wind.

Tiny hail last night in Flower Mound, along with a lot of lightning and a lot of rain.
Been raining pretty good in Southlake for the past 30 minutes. Of course just before i was going to start mowing. Cooled it down over 15 degrees at least
