Crap. Right next to me. But thankfully looks to have broken up just as it got next to Saginaw/Lake Worth area. Sirens were going off for quite awhile

We took shelter as well being on the edge of the warning. But I think we are good. Office may have gotten hit by hail though

Man prosper peeps. That bolt from the blue about an hour ago, thought I was a gonner.

Was under our metal roofed outdoor patio firing up the smoker. Felt the hair on back of my neck stand up. Ducked to ground. Bolt hit approximately a half mile from our house.

Gonna fire up the smoker in the morning after that one. Took a heavy bourbon pour to stop the shaking after that.

We had lightning and thunder starting around 8pm. 70 miles ahead of that storm. Crazy super cell.

We were driving home when one went off around 8:30ish and that sucker might have been the thickest bolt I've ever seen cross the sky and it went for miles.

The big chunk I was expecting seems to have evaporated right before it hit. Been off and on sprinkles and hope it stays at that. Still going strong central and southern Dallas it appears though.

We got a ton of rain and golf ball hail. Generally all is fine here.

Did my annual "how fast can you clear out the garage to make space for wife's car" exercise.

NW Fort Worth near eagle mountain lake.

3 separate hail events, all progressively worse. That was not fun. Never been in a storm like that before

Oof...my office sent photos of the hail, I havn't seen anything like this in a while. 200,000+ structures were hit. By all standards, this is big. This will be a multi-year restoration. We had something like this near Hondo a few years ago, but not as extensive. It totaled nearly everything that it was on top of.

Looks like it's going to be a good Christmas at the Jason_Roofer house (nm, I see you are down in Medina County).

Where was the recent damage in Hondo; my family lives around there and it seems like every 10-15 years their windows get blown out by a major hail storm.

Was flying into DFW from IAD last night. That storm off in the distance was a sight to behold. Got stuck on the ground about 50 feet from the gate for an hour due to what seemed like nonstop lightning

Wind was intense at times. I'm sure the roof sustained damage. Due to the angle of my house and how the hail was falling, my wife's car outside came out relatively ok thankfully. Few small hood dents

It will be a 'regular' Christmas. I am not a 'high volume, pump it through the system" guy. Realistically, there are only so many roofs I can handle in a given year and some take a lot of time. So, if I were to just do everything, lots of those would suffer. My focus is customers that want it done right, in order, by the books, through insurance or out of pocket as required, and aren't interested in cheap, shortcuts, or making money off of their carrier through some scheme. It actually weeds out a lot of folks just insisting on doing it right.

I have a large team in DFW. It's one of our bigger markets and offices. I work there for referrals/ags.

Hondo storm was several years ago. It was the one where we got that 'world record' hail stone. It was a record for like 8 months. LOL. Mother nature said "hold my beer'.

Not if you work with roofers that know what they are doing. The problems often arise when roofers are in a hurry and just want to get done and get paid. If they treat each project as a chance to help someone and do a good job as they are supposed to be doing in this profession, then it's usually not an issue. Professionals have deep toolboxes to "encourage" carriers to do the right thing. Most do what they are supposed to but there are some that don't. It has gotten more frequent, but of the 25 or so a year that say no at first, ALL of them end up paying for the roof, and they pay a lot more than if they had just approved it the first time when you get to appraiser fees, project management fees, etc. My clients still get a roof, it just takes a little more time.

We were in Arlington last night at the Lone Star smokeout. Had to evacuate after Koe Wetzel's third song. We stayed at Loews for the night. Koe then went to Texas Live & put on a great acoustic session. I did watch some of the lightening show from our 14th floor window. It was great.

We drove back from the Rangers game into Springtown last night (detoured through Weatherford to avoid the storm) and there was quite a bit of damage. We passed quite a few fire trucks, ambulances and police as we were coming into town on Hwy 51. These pictures from this morning were on my parents country road just northwest of town between Springtown and Cottondale.
