I deal with this a lot as there is a ton of construction on my usual commute but I don't blame the car or Tesla updates on this. I think the maps themselves cannot keep up with the frequent changes.

I have MY with HW4 and looking to upgrade to the refresh model b/c its an overall better car. What is holding me back is why not wait a few years to see if HW5 will come out.

I would hate to upgrade and then do it again with HW5 which I think will happen. If Tsla wants to have every car capable for FSD, it has to solve the camera getting dirty issue which may be HW5.

My car is a 2018 and I was one of the first to have the beta of FSD. I'm only at 90k miles, and play to just drive it until the battery dies. I do love the car, and don't really care about the car circling parking lots to find a space.

I'll probably wait a significant amount of time to upgrade, especially with how much it has depreciated. I'm on the flat tail of the depreciation curve now.

Are people really not capable at all of driving the car the last few 100 feet or so?

And the older cars have FSD included (if purchased by the original owner), not a monthly subscription so I'd think that would have some value for future used customers.

You're missing many situations where there is not a competent driver behind the wheel to be able to drive/park the last 100 feet or so. Those include impaired people, disabled people, kids, pets, and literally no living thing in the car at all. Having the vehicle fully able to drive and park on its own would completely change the dichotomy of how cars are used and change the lives for nearly everyone. FSD is almost there and being able to park on its own is just one more step to achieving its goal of Level 5 autonomy.

Fleet awareness/map updates for construction/pot holes/road debris is on the roadmap for updates. My guess is that when Tesla starts deploying driverless vehicles across the country their rate of awareness/improvement is going to explode.

Navigation tries to do some pretty stupid/frustrating stuff. Tries over and over to take a non existent exit from the freeway then wants to immediately get back on. Going to one particular store it always wants to turn right, then left twice to get on the street instead of just turning left.

I think full self driving is pretty amazing but mine done some pretty spectacularly stupid stuff too. A couple of weeks ago I was needing to do a turnaround under an overpass, but the turnaround itself was closed so you had to go through the normal lanes, but the car tried to go into the first oncoming lane after the turnaround.

A few months ago mine went the wrong way down a one way road. Fortunately it was downtown Navasota as there was no traffic so I just laughed and let it go.

I do. Sometimes with expletives, free of charge!

Today it made me laugh because I was heading to a hospital and as it was approaching the destination, it got confused and it just made me laugh because it behaved just like a confused person would. Kind of tapping the brakes and turning the wheel back-and-forth trying to make up its mind. Just like a person

Oh man that is a great idea. Not sure if we have the time on this trip. They REALLY want to see an Optimus though and was bummed when they didn't have one at the service center in the woodlands.

Are there any public tours of the factory?

Gonna be November 1st-ish is my bet. In time for Tesla's annual investor meeting, but after Halloween child pedestrians.

Most impressive drive I've seen from FSD.

Alright just finished up my first road trip using FSD and had some quirks.

Out towards Brady, there are two temporary stoplights that make 71 a one lane road. At least one way on one is at the bottom of the hill. Either way, the car didn't slow down in time for my comfort when approaching the red lights so I had to take over.

Additionally, it wasn't capturing the 70mph speed limit sign on 71 and kept the limit at 55 for way too long. Missed several signs. Even when it captured the sign, the car wanted to stay around 60mph, even while in hurry with the other settings allowing for over speed limit. I had to constantly keep my foot on the accelerator to keep it from slowing down.

Another quirk I am not sure how they solve for is taking an early exit when the exit you want is closed. The car wanted me to take exit 704 on 10 and that exit was closed. There was a temp sign up stating to take 705 because 704 is closed. If I wouldn't have been paying attention, I would have been stuck in about 6 miles of bumper to bumper traffic on 10 due to construction. Very glad I saw the temp sign.

Additionally, my lane was ending due to construction and I was about to be either hitting barrels or hitting the car next to me. The two options were braking or accelerating so I gunned it. We were going 100 before I knew it because we were traveling at 80mph when the lane merged and FSD booted me out of the system until the next drive, which started at our charge stop. I chose accelerate because braking would have been the less desirable choice because the vehicle we were next to was pulling a trailer and there was a car behind me.

There were one or two other things I am forgetting that I wanted to mention, but can't recall now.

Even with all of that, there is no way I ever want to drive a vehicle on a road trip ever again.

I noticed something weird yesterday, I was on I-10 a few miles before 45 and the map showed the feeder as '45' and the instruction had the I-45 sign. I was getting off before 45 so it shouldn't have been in the nav instructions at all.

Wider release of 14.1.3 has been going out. Still haven't gotten it yet.

Humans forgot to close the construction area, but the robot figured it out and exited like a champ! 🤖💪

anyone gotten FSD 14 yet?

Still waiting. I see on X that a lot more folks getting it.

We have a MY and MX both with HW4. Have not gotten the update.

Only 3% of eligible vehicles in Teslascope's users have downloaded it. It's wider than the small number from 14.1.1/2, but still relatively small.

I read somewhere that they had to slowly roll it out b/c they wanted to make sure their servers could handle all of the downloads. Not sure if true, but I don't see a reason why their updates always seems to be rolling.

v14 "Lite" for HW3 vehicles ~Q2 2026. Reiterated intention to make it right for HW3 vehicles for full autonomy/haven't given up on getting it to work with existing hardware.

I want a free upgrade

Same place on 820, every single time. It wants to take a non existent exit, then get back on about a mile later. Doesn't seem to matter about traffic or time of day.
