Also I have stepped out of my truck while it is running on more than one occasion recently after driving the Tesla so often.

I have never had a stem/air issue. I think if it is, just remove the cover and should have better access.

Funny you mention this. In the past, I have left my wife's ICE car with the engine running and keys in the car. Actually have left my keys in the car on many occasions.

I mean, who uses keys anymore? What are the point of Keys? I am not sure why other car makers are not just going to bluetooth as an option like tesla; I am sure the answer is they just don't have the tech knowledge.

They keyless solution makes it so difficult to steal a Tesla. I haven't look at the actual numbers but I bet it is almost impossible to steal a Tesla. Even if you do, I know where the car is going so they would be dumb to steal it.

I have a Flipper Zero. Hmm. I may try to hack the access card and see if it works.

For years I drove a Jeep that spent the vast majority of the year without doors so I would park, turn it off and walk away. It drove my wife crazy that when we took her car somewhere I would do the same thing and not lock her car. She finally just started waiting til I closed the door so she could lock it.

The smart ring is one of the best things I have for mine. Can't tell you how many times I go to the car at home or a restaurant and don't have my phone on me but I can still get in. I wear it as a wedding ring.

I asked AI. Said it would be hard to hack. But as an added security procedure, it recommended using "pin to drive"

Interesting. I was getting irritated the other night because I had to find my phone in order to get a bag out of my car.

I parked at a town fair on Saturday and spent an hour at the fair when my wife had to go back to the truck for something and realized it had been running the entire time.

I already barely drove my truck because our expy was the preferred kid vehicle, but now I drive it even less since we got the Tesla.

I also didn't realize the wheel has a cover. I will look in to that. There's just a hole in the wheel and the stem is recessed and none of my three different fittings will fit in.

I've got a medium complexity issue on the EV tax credit qualification. Might there be any CPA Tesla owners on here that could chime in on it?

I don't qualify for the individual EV tax credit. As a S Corp business owner I qualify for the section 45w credit. I placed an order prior to Sept 30 that I have yet to take delivery of. The S Corp paid the $250 deposit on a S Corp credit card. However, I placed the order in my individual name, which is the name reflected on the contract.

Tesla says it will register the car if I want in the name of "S Corp and my name." Insurance is not a problem. My concern is that I don't have a pre Sept 30 contract in the name of the S Corp. Trying to decide whether to walk from the order or take delivery given the tax credit risk. I'm not interested in buying one at this time if I can't get the credit.

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. Rather than play music or a podcast, I just turned on Grok and asked questions I was interested in while Elon drove.

Asked about Ags v. Gators and ran through stats, etc... Look out Looch, OB and Co! GrokAgs is coming for ya.

The Waymo system has a fatal flaw for consumers which is that it relies on extremely detailed maps that Waymo creates before they even enter a new market. That's fine for a taxi type application but nobody is buying a car that can't leave a predetermined area. On the Colorado trip I've mentioned a couple of times that system literally would not have driven a single mile where FSD drove over 95% of them. It's just not the same system.

If that's true why can't they take off the stupid GPS tracking system they're determined to charge you $1000 for and insist it can't be removed? Not saying you're wrong by any means but it's interesting to think they know where the car is yet want me to buy a tracker so I know where it is if it's stolen. Those two don't reconcile.

For my money the PIN code is the best security feature in a Tesla. Even with the key card if you don't know the PIN you ain't stealing it.

When we made our hotel reservation in brady several months ago for this wedding they said they would have a tesla charger installed by this weekend and they don't. That's going to make this trip a bear.

I have never charged more than a couple minutes at a supercharger so don't have much experience with charging fully on them. We will need to charge to 100% in Llano to make this feasible. How long does that generally take for the last 20%?

take your J1772 adapter. Looks like there are a couple of those there in Brady. They aren't super fast but if you are going to be in town anyway, they are good enough. My daughter had a volleyball game at a rec center on the other side of town and it just happened to have a free ChangePoint station I was able to hop on for a few hours, they are everywhere
