I agreed with you right up until about 12 hours ago. Didn't make the game day roster against Bournemouth and now Wenger saying he could leave within next 48 hours.

Of course even if he leaves, that doesn't mean he's going to United. But I'm not sure why City would pay 30 million for a 29 yr old striker when they have already virtually clinched the league this year. They can spend double that in the summer and get a younger, at least as talented striker.

Starting: Dave, Valencia,Smalling, Jones,Shaw, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Martial, Lukaku

Subs: JP, Lindelof, Rojo, Fellaini, Herrera, McTominay, Rashford

Interesting. Romero isn't on the bench.

Easily could be 2-1 or even 2-2 at HT.

Shaw and Lingard are baiting Shaqiri. There's going to be a card in that trio before the end.

3-0 and it could (arguably should) have been a lot more. Mou definitely took his foot off the accelerator.

Good team win against a team we should dominate.

Nice, easy, uncomplicated win yesterday. Just what you want to see over a team fighting for survival.

Mou certainly made the Sanchez move sound like a legit possibility after the game. That would add an interesting wrinkle to this team for sure.

I'm not sure in understand this. If they bring in Alexis, who comes off? The front 4 yesterday were Mata, Lingard, Martial and Lukaku. Mata is the most creative of that bunch, and if you take him off you lose that. And Mata takes a ton of DFKs and corners. Lingard is playing really well. Martial and Rashford are a starter/sub pair. Taking one off for Alexis puts the other even deeper on the bench. And you aren't taking Lukaku off for Alexis on a regular basis. There is an argument that buying him keeps him from Replacing Hazard at Chelsea but he still has to fit in and play here.

You saw the value Valencia brings yesterday. Solid D coupled with a guy who can bomb forward. Shaw seems to have figured something out. The weakest part is center back. I would much rather see them spend money shoring up the CB position.

I agree with your first part. The glaring issue to me is the lack of a number 10/creative midfielder in the middle of the field.
Why pay all this money for Sanchez, when Lingard and Rashford are going to be comparable for us in a year or two? We need someone besides Pogba to play the ball forward in attacking play.

You take Sanchez every day of the week, he is a level above Martial. Plus, taking him keeps him away from Chelsea or city.

Sanchez prefers to play down the left wing, so he would play more of the position Martial is playing now.

Our service to Lukaku needs to be improved. Sanchez does that immediately. The front line of Martial, Lingard, Lukaku and Rashford (wherever he fits in as the replacement) is a lot of goal scorers, but not enough creators. Sanchez gives you a creative piece on the left to work with Mata/Herrera and Pogba.

agree with this. Wouldn't mind a CB either. There is a bunch of meh there now until Bailly can get back.

There are reports that the club is looking to (is in process?) extend Mou through 2021. Saw it on the espnfc scrawl and went to bigsoccer.com. There is a linked story there.

Managerial stability is the hallmark of a well run club. Players under transfer consideration know what they are getting for the long haul and are more likely to want to come into that kind of stable system.

Hey, it works for average college FB and BB coaches who say they need to be extended for recruiting stability.

Yes, yes... I'm sure that was huge in securing rising star and all-around bargain Alexis Sanchez.

Rising stars want to go to small teams like liverpool. World class stars want to come to United.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what results these two strategies bring about...

so i guess he plays on the right? Martial has outperformed Sanchez with significantly less time while Rashford has 3 fewer goals but more assists.

I think the argument is that Sanchez is just going through the motions as he hasn't wanted to play for Arsenal for quite some time. He's still a top player.

I agree some CBs would be nice but probably not too many available that are world class without breaking the bank. If Mourinho isn't going to use Herrera as an option in Matic's spot then I'd like to see an add there. You think our CBs are shaky just wait till he gets hurt.

Starting XI: Dave, Valencia, Smalling, Jones, AY, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Martial, Lukaku

Subs: Romero, Rojo, Shaw, Fellaini, Herrera, McTominay, Rashford

So a day after Mou publicly proclaims that no one is playing LB better right now than Shaw, he gets benched in favor of AY.

This is a very uninspired first 25:00. It's a combination of the matchup with how Dyche sets his team up and out lackadaisical play.

Grrrrr. There was no advantage there. Just blow it, issue the card and give the attacking DFK. Dean over thought that.

Blah. Whole lotta blah. It's just a not a good matchup. Burnley only have 24 goals all season and this is what they do. Just muck it up and play solid D.

This is probably not real. The 7 looks off. But still...I'm half tempted to post it on the Arse board just to troll them.
