Absolutely can't leave the transfer window without replacing Gini. Every other spot on the roster is in acceptable shape, but asking Milly, Hendo, Ox, Naby or Thiago to play Gini's role without getting hurt seems like a suckers bet.

Don't know much about Saul Niguez but there seem to be some reports of interest in signing him from Atletico Madrid. Guess he would be Wijnaldum replacement?

Very similar player to Gini. Box to box player adapt at retrieving the ball and recycling possession. Very durable with enough athleticism.
Often criticized for not doing enough from an offensive perspective, but very solid in his positioning and often will allow other players to move forward.
I think he is the ideal replacement for Gini, but cost may be an issue.

Sounds like he's worth splashing the money for as he's in his prime at 26. Transfermarkt has his valuation at 40M euros, not too outrageous. The question is will Atletico Madrid let him go.

Yeah, he's been a nice piece but never really found his niche. I feel like he barely played at all last year.
Shaq needs freedom that isn't available in Klopps system or in the EPL really. Most top class teams wont thrive with him as the main playmaker and he isn't really known for putting in the dirty work. For the right team in the right league he could be a very important and useful player. An upper-mid table Italian team seems like the right place for him to thrive.

I listened to a podcast yesterday and the guys were saying that Shaq's departure could mean some time for Elliott with the first team, in the least as a squad player. It would be nice to have some youth mixed in up front.

Weirdly, I decided to pick up FIFA '21 for my xbox last night and start playing. (I typically lag about a year behind on FIFA games.) The introduction and initial match features LFC and PSG. Never had seen in before and thought it was pretty cool.

Wasn't sure if we'd ever be able to catch Brentford, but here we are all tied up. But for real, I'm looking forward to seeing more of Harvey Elliott this year. That series of saves by Alisson was insane. Great first game!
Excellent performance, IMO. Goals by important players. I really hope Bobby gets some more sitters early this season and gets his confidence up. Tsimi played really well early, made some mistakes late. Overall, looked like a good start to the season.

I'm looking forward to Tsimi getting more time. He definitely fell off late.
