90+ points in 3 of 4 years and only one PL championship to show for it. Disappointing but that's the way it goes I guess. Win next Saturday!

I survived the 2011 World Series defeat. I can handle this too. And I'll be repeating that to myself the rest of the day.

Not even comparable IMO. 2011 was so much worse.

I would like to add that this was the best Premier League season overall in years. Top 1, top 4, and relegation battles til the last day.

FA Cup tournament was good too.

Hope Liverpool win Europe.
I don’t say this in a braggedocious way. But it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.

Amazing season and still a championship to play. We were something like 14 points back at the end of December. Played every game possible across four competitions and already have two trophies in the bag. For a fleeting second today all our hopes and dreams seemed like they'd be realized, but it wasn't to be. Love this club and our manager.

Now prayers sent up that Thiago will be fit for Real.

Think he is done for the year.

Tough outcome today.

I had a feeling City were going to go on a flurry once they scored their first. That's been their pattern this year. How they get so many open shots from the midfielders is beyond my tactical brain. I'm guessing it's part of what makes Pep great. I just hope the champion's league continues to elude him and he decided to try something else after next year.

Anyone else worried Madrid comes for Salah now that Mbappe has decided to stay at PSG? And What a wasted career… ligue 1 is trash

If they are really paying him a 150m euro signing bonus, it's hard to blame him for staying

Man, I hope not. We've been really lucky to keep him and Sadio and Bobby and then add Diaz and Jota. No's my favorite player and it's break my heart to lose him, but that's an absurd about of money.

Sorry, that's what PSG paid Mbappe to stay, reportedly

Ah, gotcha. I read that wrong.

Saw someone point out today at without LFC, the EPL would basically be the Bundesliga with City as its Bayern.

Disagree, there are amazing players on Spurs, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc.

Bundesliga is Ligue 1. All the good players are on one team and dominate. EPL has tons of stars, City just finds a way to dominate. I credit Pep

We'll see. The gulf between City and their unlimited pockets and the rest of the league will continue to grow imo.
ChipFTAC01

Well maybe Newcastle will open up their unlimited pocketbooks and close the gap?

Interested to see what the future holds for Chelsea.

I think it's the combo of the money and Pep. Man U and Chelski have spent just as much, if not more, than City since Pep got there. Like Klopp for us, Pep is their most important piece.

Anyone see Thiago's kid dribbling around during the post game? Kid just had a lean and a nasty step to him at age 4 or so.

I'm not. I actually think we should sell him and buy 3 more Guys like Jota and Diaz.

Selling Coutinho paved our way to all the silverware the last few years. It seemed like the end of the world but VVD and Alisson were game changers. Liverpool plays money ball but with a big budget. We'll be fine

I agree with this mostly. City and United have spent 2x as much as the next EPL team, from a net spend perspective, but City is dominant. City is well run with a great coach and United is a mess administratively with crap coaches.

I'll have to go back and look it up, but City's huge spending push preceded Pep's arrival by several years. He's an incredible coach, but I don't know that he's ever had to coach a team that was less talented than his opponents. Chelsea is going to be interesting to watch in the coming years - no idea what their trajectory will be now. United just makes no sense - even with subpar managers they shouldn't be as bad as they are. Their roster seems to be filled with guys who don't give a damn.

Thiago has a minor achilles injury. Not serious but he's a question for the final.

Listening to Klopps post game pc and he said something about someone being injured at the end of Saturday's training and not being available for the cup final. I listened to it three times and couldn't figure out who it was.
