Reece James moved his arm forward to prevent a clear goal-scoring opportunity. By rule, that's a red.

Don't know why people are even arguing about whether the ref made the right call or not.

Yeah, so the most recent iteration of the handball law includes language about incidental handling immediately off of another part of the body like a foot or leg. So when it hit Reece's leg then immediately arm, folks thought that the offense should be lesser than it was. My issue with that application is that he moved his arm to knock the ball forward off the line which is an intentional act. I would have been okay with a PK and no red card.

He batted the ball with his arm while standing on the goal line. I mean he made a deliberate movement with his arm to whack the ball for goodness sake. That's a red card all day every day.

You can easily see him whip his arm forward, after the ball makes contact. He also "makes himself bigger" to make the initial block, which is enough for a red card as it is.

Watching Ted Lasso this weekend I saw Peter Crouch credited as himself (along with two other people I didn't recognize). Not remembering a 7' bean pole in any scene I figured out that Nate was listening to his podcast (That Peter Crouch podcast). It's basically a behind the scenes look at the life of a footballer. Apparently it's one of the most popular podcasts in the UK.

I listened to the first episode this morning (Dressing Rooms) and it's really funny.

Third kit announcement pushed up to today because of leaks. It's yellow and I know there is some history there, but I still think they're pretty dang ugly.



Funnily, we replaced our Checkers third kit with a McDonald's third kit.
