4/48 for Lowry.

Only worth mentioning because it seems like a lot:

Jodie Meeks has agreed to a $19.5 million, three-year deal with Detroit

It's continually amazing how bad teams continue to make the same mistakes over and over again. How on earth does Cleveland justify a max offer for Hayward?

I'm assuming Melo signs with New York because they can offer the most money. He's confident that he can force a trade to a contender in 18 months and blame the knicks for failing to build the roster. It worked for him in Denver, why not do it again?

So no Lowry. What's Miami's next option? Pau? If you're LeBron, is that enough?

It doesn't even sound like pau is considering Miami

I agree that I think LeBron returns to MIA. But if he chooses to go elsewhere, expect it to be as low key and as much of a surprise as possible given the backlash of The Decision

Oh I do think LeBron stays in Miami. I was referring to what you would do in his shoes or what you think he should do.

It really depends what he values the most. If he wants money and lifestyle and an easy path to the Finals, Miami is hard to beat.

If he wants to be a savior, going back to Cleveland and keeping them from giving Gordon Hayward the max would be the best bet.

If he wants seven titles, he needs to go somewhere like San Antonio, or Oklahoma City and take significantly less money. I sure as hell wouldn't risk it on DWade or DRose's health. Without doing this, I don't think he gets 7 titles.

If I'm Lebron, I'd want Wade and Bosh to leave this year b/c they suck. I'd know that my team would still be a lock for top 4 in the east regardless. I'd make sure to sign like a 2 year deal with the 2nd year as a player option, or maybe even an option for two more years like they did this time. That way, if management doesn't draft you some help next year when you're picking around #20 and bring in some legit free agent help (hello K Love), he can hit the road and go wherever he wants. That looks to be exactly what he's doing sans getting rid of Wade / Bosh.

Bosh is still better than you give him credit. I want Wade as a 25mpg 6mm player, though. But that is tough with Miami because Wade is practically royalty there. But really, Wade is done, much more so than Bosh.

So funny that LA was in the perfect place to have a SuperFriends free agency summer this year if they didn't give Kobe that stupid contract and they blew it.

Do you really think that Melo/Bron/Bosh would have blinked at teaming up with Kobe in LA? Could any coach handle that team now that Phil Jackson was burned by Little Jimmy Buss?

If I'm LeBron, I know there's no way that Wade is leaving Miami. I also realize that I need Bosh there too. That three is sticking together. I also want Pat Riley to find some shooters and a good backup for LeBron so he doesn't have to play as much during the regular season.

But if Bosh and Wade stay, unless one or both takes a ridiculous paycut, they don't have the money for shooters and backups.

If Bosh takes a $4mm cut and Wade takes a 7mm while Bron gets 20mm, they have $4mm in cap space.

SO he is back in the same situation he was last year, only Ray Allen might leave and Shane Battier retired.

Yeah, you're a fool to think the Heats' big 3 can stay together for the salaries they're allegedly seeking, and remain competitive with OKC and SAS. Their team would easily be worse than it was this year, because they have zero players, and even if all their bench players came back they're a year older and more broken down.

Darren Collison to the Kings, 3yrs/$16MM. Insurance policy if they can't match another team's offer for Isaiah Thomas.

I think the biggest reason he stays in Miami is the good teams that want him are all in the West, does he really want that level of competition just to get a decent seed, with no certainty of making the finals. In Miami it is a shocker if they don't make the finals even if theye do not improve the team. But if he and Melo went to the west and possibly Kevin Love, could the east officially be made a second tier league.....

Bosh averaged 14/5/1 in the finals in 36 mpg as the 3rd best player on his team.

Splitter averaged 6/3.5/2 in less than half that playing time.

Diaw averaged 6/8.6/5.8 in 35 mpg. Diaw doesn't actually suck either, but he would if you were paying him what he used to get paid.

Bosh isn't a bad player overall, but he sucks at what he's getting paid. Averaging 16/6.6/1/1 is nice, but not at near-max money.

He's tied at 47th in rpg, 31st in bpg, 68th in steals, 47th in points. His rankings all get worse when you look at the per-48 minute values.

What exactly has he been doing to deserve the amount he was getting paid?

He had a game where he only touched the ball 11 times.

If Wade/Bron won't pass to him, he can't do anything.

Bosh shot .507/.405/.750 for the playoffs. That's excellent.

He was .549/.385/.818 in the Finals.

It wasn't Bosh's fault they lost. That goes on Chalmers, Cole and Wade as well as the owners that didn't want to spend to keep solid role players in there.

Exactly. Bosh's numbers are down because of Lebron/Wade (his percentages are great, he just doesn't get the touches). He doesn't even post up anymore...and that's not by choice. He had an excellent mid-post game in Toronto. Literally the only time he gets the ball is when Wade/Lebron drive and then kick it to him. Miami never gives him the ball and lets him go to work. To his credit, he is a team player and has worked on his jump shot because he realized that's the only time he was going to get the ball.

But if you put Bosh on another team that wanted to utilize his offensive skills, I think he would be great and his numbers would be more like what they were in Toronto. He is still a great player.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
You can blame it on scheme all you want, the fact is the numbers (other than percentage) aren't there even though he's logging pretty good minutes.

I don't think it is scheme as much as poor team play with poor players all around. Fact is that the ball wasn't even getting into his hands despite being one of the hottest shooters they have in the playoffs.

In their 20 playoff games, he had three where he shot under 43%. In ten of them, he shot 54% or better. That's pretty good.

Still, even if his ppg could come up with more touches (which is no guarantee because that relationship is not always linear), he's not a great passer, his rebounding is pretty meh, and he's not a great (nor a bad) defender. Still nowhere near a max player, even if he was up around 20ppg.
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I thought Bosh was overrated pre-Miami, but he's underrated now. He put up 22 and 10 on 50% shooting like clockwork before going to Miami and he just turned 30. OK, he's not a real low post threat and some of the numbers were because someone had to score for the Raptors. He's still one of the rare stretch 4s who is also an actual player. Not worth a max deal, but 14-15 for the right team? Absolutely.

Since he was the Raptors' only scoring threat, that meant that the opponent's defense was focused on him. And yet he still put up great numbers while in Toronto.

@DreamShakeSBN: So Carmelo got 9 hours in Chicago, 6 in Houston, 2 in Dallas, and 2.5 in Los Angeles. How are we supposed to overreact to this?
