The treatment of Castle has fully convinced me that Mitch is not going to be our permanent coach
Can they just go ahead and make Paul the player/head coach. Convince him to retire and move to HC next year.

If KelEl Ware has a great 2nd half, I could see some voters giving him the vote. He's been really inconsistent since those three big games.
But Castle still leads all rookies in points scored AND he is clearly the best defensive rookie in the league. He's the only one taking on the toughest defensive assignment pretty much every time he's on the court.

I think this is exactly right. Mitch seems like a puppet coach. Steph is our 3rd, honestly not far from 2nd, best player on this team. Him only playing 20 mins is (I hope) to appease Paul and to not shake Devin's already fragile mentality. We can't be the only one's seeing this. It's ludicrous.
Pairing Fox and Castle in the backcourt is going to make us a better team. Not doing so is putting a ceiling on this team.

That being said, Castle is clearly the second best guard on the team and easily the best guard defender. The Fox/Castle backcourt is going to be fun to watch for years. Unfortunately CP3 came here to play and organization seems like they want to fulfil that promise. Here's hoping that they make some fundamental change after at the all star break.
And btw, some of the Vassell hate I see on here is crazy. He's the best pure offensive player on the team and has really been busting his ass on defense lately. He's a better athlete than most realize and he's easily the best shooter on the team. If Devin Vassell is your 4th best player that is pretty dang good. He definitely struggled coming back from injury and I don't think Mitch is doing him any favors with this one on one scheme we started to run. It's REALLY hard for these guys to get good shots.

Poeltl, Barnes, Ingram, Barrett, Quickly with Dick, Agbaji and Shead coming off the bench and a quality first coming this year is a pretty good and quick rebuild from the Spicy P and OG era. They won't be contenders but they will be back to DeMar days, which is probably the best that franchise can realistically hope for

I think it's going to take a while for the team to Gel. Vassell definitely isnt getting the looks he wants, particularly in the mid range. That being said, he is shooting himself out of this team's future if he can't knock down open threes. He was getting eaten alive by the small white hope on the other end too.

He got the ball enough to shoot 4-12 tonight. He shot 11-14 against Orlando a couple days ago.
He's been way less efficient on drives this year, and it was all before Fox came, too.
Hopefully our rotations change some after the ASB.

After adding De’Aaron Fox 93-year-old Chris Paul is still starting with Stephon Castle receiving even less playing time despite outperforming CP3 by A LOT.
This is the choice of a team that doesn’t actually want to make the playoffs. A quiet tank.
We weren't going to compete regardless. Spend time working on chemistry and developing skills. Hope for the best in the lottery.

I really think there is something to this. If we had a coach pulling the right strings, even in the last two weeks, we would be closer to 500. Then you consider the absence of bigs on the team, which is a front office call. It could be the last year we are trying to get a top 10 pick and legitimate odds at getting into the top 4 with the combined lottery picks, assuming Atlanta ends up there.
