Is Johnny Manziel still trying to get on tour?

A few years ago he got in a pro am on sponsorship exemption but came in dead last. He said he is normally a scratch golfer but has a terrible time on the course.

He also didn't know he had to wear pants, so he didn't have any range time and had to go buy pants.

Sam is a member of the Kornferry Tour and does not receive Fed Ex cup points for his play on the PGA Tour. The US Open is different going forward. This year, changes were made so that KFT members do receive non-member Fed Ex points from the US Open.

His path to the PGA is to either win a tournament on the PGA tour through a sponsors exemption entry or to graduate from the KFT.

I wouldnt mind him winning since I have him at +35,000 to win

Sam has accumulated 46 FedEx points. His points are tracked as a non member. A non member can accept 7 sponsor exemptions for the season. He's accepted 2 already and should have 5 more. So he has 5 more tournaments to gain special temporary designation, where he can accept unlimited sponsor exemptions.

He needs to get probably 130 points to earn special temporary status (150th place of last years FedEx standings). IF he does that, and gets into more tournaments, he'll need to earn the equivalent points of 125th place.

A top20 finish at the US Open would be HUGE. Unfortunately, he doesn't retroactively get the 50ish points he earned at the Masters.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a 300 yard par 3 before in any PGA tournament. Just saw Ricky use driver to knock it on. May have been 3 wood but it looked like driver.

Rickie can't hit the slow putts.

I've been trying for over an hour to get a VPN to work to get the video on while I am out of the country and I'm pretty sure they have a good VPN blocker going which is really annoying. You want to grow the game of golf, maybe allow people in other countries to watch it on usopen.com. I cant even get it on peacock which I pay for.

If Fowler could par some holes, he would be absolutely running away with this thing. But he's a birdie bogey machine.

Just saw that. That dude is in quite the funk right now.

Fowler with another bogey and falls back to tied for 1st. He needs to make a birdie in these last 3 holes and not card another bogey.

I think he's battling a nagging injury. But either way this is a funk.
