It's back uphill and he can pop it straight up with that lie and the slope of the green is towards him, helping him even more. Unlucky that it ran off the back on the drive, but that's not a super difficult pitch or bad miss. Short side isn't as penal there. He just needs to be aggressive with it.

If he gets timid or slows the swing a bit it could leave a tester or even short if the green

But that second shot did cost him a better birdie chance and an opportunity to get that shot back.

Great first two rounds. Looks like the course is drying out and the field is gonna start scoring big time so hopefully he doesn't fall too far behind. What kind of payout do you think a top 10 finish would yield this year?

10th gets around 550k...I wonder if that would be enough to get Sam his card for next season. I think the rule is he needs to get as many or more points than whoever finished 125th in the Fedex Cup last season to get exempt status on tour.
