So is this the "game thread" too? Didn't see any *****'s in the title.

Would love for Rose to win. Always enjoyed watching him play. One of those dudes who seems like he should have three or four majors.
I think Reed will contend. He's been playing really well lately and has played well at Augusta even when his game hasn't been super sharp.
I think if I was betting $100 I'd put it on Bryson.

Pretty much my thoughts and maybe add Fleetwood with his iron play.

The only guy I'm rooting against this week is "amateur" Brandon Holtz. All the golf publications have been plastering his "feel good" story all over their sites - 39-year-old "everyman" who qualified by winning last year's Mid-Am.
I guess that I'm just old school and feel there should be no reinstatement of amateur status for any player that ever declared their professional status and played in a tournament where they would receive prize money. Which is what Holtz knew and fully understood & accepted when he turned professional and played various mini-tours.
Bobby Jones is rolling over in his grave.

You raise an interesting point that will be worth watching over the next few years. ANGC has always valued amateur play and carved out a place for them in the Masters. But if the "amateurs" become 30-something former pros, it wouldn't surprise me if they re-think their criteria.
And I should add, I don't have a strong opinion on this but it wouldn't surprise me if ANGC does. Worth following.

Part of me wants Holtz to make the cut and be low am, solely for the entertainment value of having to see Fred Ridley interview Holtz in the Butler Cabin ceremony. Ridley would have to be seething inside, as he is a true steward of amateur golf, being the last U.S. Amateur champion to have never become a professional golfer. The level of interview awkwardness might be Hord Hardin-level.

Probably just made Dude Perfect some extra cash because people are gonna go watch that video now.
Pretty sure they let several from the YT space play after the Masters last year. Rick Shiels posted about it

IIRC Rick got in on the media lottery to play. He didn't get to record or anything while playing.
IMO the dude perfect video was super fun and showed the lighter side of angc. I think it was a great PR move and such a cool op for the dudes.

Saw a lot of complaints on reddit about Travis Kelce and Kevin Hart being far too front and center during the Par 3

Nobody is saying they shouldn't have shown the little kid but he basically became the featured event on espn for over an hour. They do obsession coverage and it is nauseating. And honestly the over-coverage of that entire group didn't bother me nearly as much as the celebrity caddies and constant cut ins to talk with as many players as possible. It was pure overload.
