Ok I'll give you that on the no birdie but just the fact Rahm shot a 1st round 78 and looked like shlt doesn't surprise me at all.
Yeah, seeing him underwhelm in a major can't be a surprise anymore. Yes, 78 is particularly high, but with how fast this course is playing right now, it is really easy for a subpar round to get into that territory.
Just said Speith has never eagled 2 in his Masters career. A little surprising considering his record around there.

looking better today....so far.
Enjoyed seeing McIntyre double the 1st today. Immediate twist of the knife from the course. Now I'm fine with him playing well and offering up his apology after the round today.

Scheffler now +3 in his last 13holes with no birdies in his last 20.
Koepka 8 birdies and 7 bogeys through his first 25 holes. no major mistakes but way too many small ones if he wants to compete this weekend.

One of the little-noticed, severely-underappreciated things about Augusta, or simply proof of their ridiculous standards, is the fact that overnight they plug all the divots with fresh turf grown on property for exactly that purpose.

That, plus the almost real-time fixing/filling of the tee box divots on the par 3s, and then the lack of tents/club seating/signage make it so clean and beautiful. You don't even really see TV towers very much, and even the grandstands are wrapped in green rather than white with corporate logos.
And their sandwich bags are green, so even if one gets loose, it doesn't stick out.

There's also green tables in the woods off certain holes so you can eat but you can't see any of them on TV. I ate a pimento cheese sandwich at one of these just off the left side of the No. 7 fairway in 2017.

Anyone watching on an AppleTV? I can't find the main broadcast feed on the AppleTV app for some reason, just the other feeds (featured groups, amen corner, etc.)
On my iPhone, the Masters app does have the main broadcast feed. On AppleTV, seems like my only option is watching it on Amazon Prime. Is that right?

Yes. Main feed is Amazon only until 2. Or on the Masters App.
Spieth could easily be 4 or 5 better. Terrible putting.
