I don't think it's purposeful. This kid has pretty good movement and he has a deceptive release. I think our hitters are just unfortunately swinging a touch high because of it.

"so good" might be overstating it. He'd pitch his ace-reliever with a 6 to 8 run lead in a Friday night game with a thin bullpen staff. His game2 vs Tennessee in the Finals last year was also a disaster.
