I understand Ags not liking him or even hating him, but I don't understand Ags not easily seeing how great a coach he is especially after what he did here in just three years.

After today he's 18-15 at the CWS in 8 trips thus far. That's slightly more than 2 wins (making the Final 4) per trip.

That's outstanding. A national championship would put the cherry on top obviously, but that's elite CWS production to accompany the CWS trip rate.

People's legit hatred of him obscures their rational assessment of our program. I go back to 1987, and he did more in 3 years than the other 37 combined. It's just true. I could go through it blow by blow, game by game, and maybe I will do so on another thread. But to summarize, those 3 seasons eliminated every mental block that this program AND ITS FANS had for all of those years. I got in a 2009 Kia hatchback and drove 900 miles because I believed those guys could dog pile, and I wanted to be there. To see our fan base so quickly revert to being apologists for the program ("this was a great year because we didn't suck like last year") is the saddest, Aggiest thing ever. We'll write ballads for a business grad who built a company against headwinds, but exceeding expectations on the diamond is just a bridge too far. For a brief instant, he shattered that narrative. How quickly it has returned.

That's not the argument. That's not what the point I was making. I was talking about the different standards for different coaches. But yeah, I don't like the guy. Never said he wasn't a good coach. I'm also sick of hearing about him. There's plenty of other good coaches in college baseball.

Oh for sure. I would rather get blown out in Omaha then blown out in your own regional. But still. I can't imagine going winless with two blowout losses at Omaha for your first trip
