is the beginning of the Schloss era officially a disappointment?
big payroll and lots of talent
Two years so far and he has a top 6 finish. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
Only because the committee hand paved an easy road to Omaha for them. Once they got there, they beat an Alabama team that had no business being in Omaha, and got their asses handed to them the others two games
And it evened out by them having to play Georgia twice. Look, I don't think he's winning one there, but for everyone to throw a party over this loss and act like he hasn't easily outperformed Earley the last two seasons is hilarious.
Nobody acted like he didn't 'outperform Earley' (who kicked his ass this year, by the way).
But we're all happy the lying POS fell short again. He hasn't outperformed their previous coach. And for what they're spending on him and his rosters, he's a massive disappointment. Deal with it.
I'm not disappointed except in the sense you always want to win it all. Georgia was the better team this year and beat Texas twice at the CWS.
Finishing 6th was what was expected by seed heading into the playoffs. Getting back to the CWS and beating Bama was a pretty good season, and the regular seasons (1st and 2nd in the SEC) have been fun too. Certainly a better result in the playoffs than UCLA, Ga. Tech, and Auburn had despite being higher seeded.
I'm optimistic going forward and Texas, like A&M, will continue to amass talent under their new regimes.
