Interesting discussion since we could have hired him two years ago if we actually put real effort into it. It seems to me we messed up more being that he was just in the finals in 22.
My guess is we were to concerned with losing him to Texas if we had success.

Well the LF and SS were probably bruised up after running into each other.
I don't remember him making excuses like this when he was here but maybe I missed them. Just remembered him complaining about fan things and upgrades.
Did he also do this at TCU?

This is fantastic. I was telling that ball to go and when he got the homer it made me smile and I had tears. What a fabulous moment for Branch and his family.
It sucks when you know this is the last AB. I had to do it with my kid. Every baseball parent experiences it. He hit a double.

Football only has 12 regular season games and the smaller football playoff makes sense vs baseball with 56 games. The maximum playoff for football that I would prefer is 16 to take away byes.

Wasn't/hasn't this been the argument against Earley?
Not sure which side you fell on, but I find this logic interesting considering the polar views on our current HC.
That said, sure is amazing what Skip Johnson has done at OU. Would have been fine with hiring him in '24 but I'm also fine and hopeful with the decision to go with Earley. Would love it if he stays here and is successful for 15+ years.

It's only 2 days because neither had to play another game out of the losers bracket.
I think both teams will appreciate the rest. And if one of them ended up having to play one more game out of the losers bracket that would be BRUTAL having to play so many conservative days....that would be rough on getting the bullpens reset for the most important series of the season.

Fully aware. It gets brought up every season as why we don't reach our potential. Amazing another coach will acknowledge it as well. After 60games players are going to get beat up. Depth has alot to do with how far a team goes. Notice all the freshmen OU is throwing in the CWS. By the end of the season Earley was leaning all over select group of guys. Earley is going to need to branch out in the future.

Fan facilities are abysmal. Don't know about the player facilities.

Texas lost OF Jonah Williams to a season ending injury in mid-March and relief pitcher Max Grubbs in May, but every team has injuries.

I was at my daughter's last soccer game, but didn't know it was going to be the last until a couple of weeks later. I'm glad I didn't know. I would have been an emotional wreck.
