6 straight wins, all have been by 1 goal. What's interesting/unfortunate is in 4 of them we had 2 goal leads going into the 3rd. Now it would be nice to figure out how to run away with it, but I'm gonna choose the high road here.

Anyway, if anyone is looking for a place other than or in addition to your Dallas Stars thread to hang out and talk Olympic hockey over the next few weeks, I've bumped the "USA Hockey" thread I started a couple of years ago here in the "Other Sports" forum.
With the women's tournament starting tomorrow morning - Team USA plays at 9:40AM on the USA Network - I already added some preview posts regarding Team USA and my thoughts on the women's tournament in general. My intention is to do the same for the men (NHLers) for next week, although maybe not quite as detailed as for the women's team since most of us are more familiar with the NHL players already.

Nice streak to enter into the Olympic break even despite the third period collapses. I think a lot of the third period woes is just a lack of effort and attention to detail due to the odd nature of this seasons schedule and being in the dog days of the calendar. I believe they'll tighten up as we approach the playoffs. Doesn't mean I think it's not a problem or won't still be because we've seen it a bit all season, but I think it'll be fewer and farther between collapses.
Now it's time to see if Jim Nill and the front office can solve the top four RHD issue and grab a middle six veteran forward.

Finally watching the game-took me a bit to figure out what is different, they are all wearing neck protectors.
Not surprising, but Canada is playing really high-level hockey.

It worked for me on NBC Universal thru the Roku, because we dont pay for peacock
Big win for the Fins. I sort of thought the Swedes were the second best team after Canada coming into the tournament.

They sure didn't look like it against Italy or Finland. They haven't even looked like the 4th best team.
Yeah they definitely haven't looked the part so far. I thought their depth in D and top six (give or take) was enough to put them above the United States, but that clearly hasn't been the case so far. Next game for them is huge strictly from "we gotta start playing up to our standard" perspective.

Was listening to DLLS this week, they pointed out fighting rules are different in that they result in game suspensions.
Have any been "awarded"?
They only awarded roughing minors……. I guess we won't see a repeat of the brawl from the 4Nations game.

I was kinda wondering that as well. I listened to the podcast and then have noticed there has been some throwing hands/tussling after the whistle in several games. The Germans and Danes were that way too.
Wonder if they are trying to let it slide a tiny bit to keep it sporty? Penalize them with bogus goalie interference penalties? Lol
