I would've done it for Andersson but that's probably the only guy out there from this trade cycle.
I don't know if the Stars even approached Brent Burns. I would have liked to have had him on the $1 million deal the Avs signed him for.
He's old, but he would have added a big right shot defenseman that's better than what's on the roster.
Only downside was that the incentives could take it to $4 million.

WTF Otter
One of the things this team really needs to focus on as we move into the final stretch and playoffs is limiting high danger chances. We give up way too many.
Maybe DeSmith should be our #1 goalie down the stretch. I know Otter is the guy you paid big bucks to but Casey has definitely been better than Jake this season

Otter has been poor this year. We have a ton of money committed to him so I'm not sure how you handle it.
He hasn't been good this year and if the playoffs started tomorrow, I'd probably start DeSmith. However I'm not going to read too much into this game. Otter hasn't started in 3.5 weeks. Not easy - I'll give him a few games and see if he sharpens up

If you're Vancouver idk why you wouldn't just be trying to trade everyone and hit the full restart. Pettersson, Boeser, along Kane, Meyers and anyone else not named Buium or Rossi.

I know Robo has been somewhat ghostly in the playoffs, let's get that out of the way. What we need to get past our WCF hump, imo, is to have regular season Robo in the playoffs. Our issue in the WCF has been goal scoring, which Robo is elite at most of the time. I think subbing out Robo's goal scoring for Brady's physicality would put us at a further goal deficit.
While it's plenty noted that teams that win the cup have an enforcer causing havoc, I don't think it's wise to come at the expense of our points leader. We have $10M to play with, we can get a cheaper big body.

Yeah I saw Bob Sturm post a screenshot of a text exchange where he asked someone if Nill would do it and the guy responded that Nill would.
I am a little surprised we have gone this long and a deal hasn't been worked out for Robo yet. I understood not doing an extension over the summer, as he had an average year last year and post-season and needed to answer some questions. But he's answered the outstanding questions in resounding fashion. I don't think his value is really getting any higher at this point so why not work on the extension before the playoffs and avoid all of the noise?

The Stars don't have enough cap space to offer him what he's worth. I don't know if there is a way to sign him that pushes the big money down the road. They need Seguin's contract off the books.

It all depends on how greedy Robo is. If money is the most important thing on his mind, trade him. I just don't understand some players. You already have almost generational money and your on a team who will be very good for years with a fairly young core. Winning should be the only thing that matters.
The cap is projected to go up quite a bit next year. They probably have room to sign Robo but would then have to do what they did this past offseason and shop the bargain/rookie bin to fill out the roster:

If I had to guess Robo and his camp are pushing for $14M (I am guessing but it feels right). So say we split the difference of $13M. We technically have that money to give to him, but that then leaves you with $3.5M in order to fill out your roster while you are set to lose Benn, Bourqure (RFA), Erne, Hyry and Bastian as free agents. That is spreading yourself PAPER thin.
