3 on 1 with an empty net and couldn't score. 3 point difference in the standings from that.
****ing choke job. Especially from Benn and Otter.
Absolutely brutal and inexcusable. I don't get pissed lff during the regular season but that one has me cussing.
I still can't believe Benn blew that empty net winner.
The Benn empty netter is easily the most frustrating aspect of that game (besides Roope of course). I know you're on your backhand but my god man you're crossing the offensive blue line and cannot put that away?

Honestly don't think anyone saw it, it was so far from play. Camera crew clearly weren't on it.

We definitely have a huge problem putting teams away in the 3rd. Lots of late tying goals given up. Gotta clean that up before the playoffs.
When is it time to start thinking about making a goalie switch to Casey. I know his record is good but Otter continues to be mediocre

Super frustrating way to lose and lose the winning streak. The casual back handed flip by Benn toward the empty net was a bad omen, and of course that useless ***** Nichuskin had to tie it. That guys been so quiet this season I kind of assumed he had failed another drug test or was in rehab again.
This team without Rantanen and Roope just doesn't have the horses to skate with the Avs (not many do, to be fair). Not a coincidence that Miro had the best looks by far in OT, he's the only one on the ice with that kind of juice. I knew the shootout was a done deal once Robertson was denied. Man I hate the Avs, especially MacKinnon. Such a sore loser ******bag, and his getting tangled with and injuring Roope needs to be answered soon.

As bad as that was to end the game, I'm not going to read too much into it outside of the injuries. We dominated them until Roope went out.

Losing face-offs in your own zone on the power play or down a man is a death sentence against teams like Colorado and Edmonton with the juice they can throw out up a man. And now we're going to be without Roope for maybe the rest of the season, Faksa until the playoffs, and Mikko a bit longer.
On the Otter front, no, I don't think he is elite and do think he's been poor at times this year, but I don't think last night was bad. The third goal was bad, but the others are just goals scored by elite players on an elite team. He also had that great save in OT to keep us in it. I don't think we'll know what we're going to get from him until the playoffs unfortunately.

I'll say this, if we're healthy and meet them in the playoffs I think we take them. There's just something about our style and how we frustrate them that they have a hard time dealing with. Having Roope involved is a must though, he's such a good two-way player and is critical to what we do well.

Said they’re hopeful Hintz can return for start of playoffs, and maybe even before, but “it’s gonna be a couple weeks for sure.”
When it happened last night, I just knew he was gone for the year. So glad I was wrong.

The only hope I had was that he reached for the back of his thigh rather than his knee, and he wasn't really screaming, squirming, etc. like guys can do when they know they have torn a knee ligament.

Watching the Avs act dumbfounded that they got called for interference (on an obvious call) is hilarious! And it was MacKinnon. They pick or interfere with players all the time.
And yeah, an extra point being awarded in this game does not help Dallas.

I don't know if it's just my perception but it feels like this team has a habit of collapsing late in games.
