Mike Eruzione - wow so many memories from the miracle on ice.

I was 13 and that was the most incredible game. We watched in prime time and nobody spoiled it. We didn't really have much opportunity to anyway with no internet and no 24 hour news cycle or sports channel. And the other networks didn't spoil anything.

It was much more than just the game too. I don't think people today can understand where we were with the economic stagflation of the 70s, Carter, hostages in Iran, USSR in Afghanistan, post Vietnam/Watergate mood, and the way Russia had just demolished us in previous matches (10-3 most recently).

I still get goosebumps from those highlights.

Every time I see Mike Eruzione appear, I have to golf clap about what he turned one game 46 years ago into. Made a career and a life out of it.

My 7 year old son and I are watching miracle later this afternoon. The watch will be that much sweeter with a gold.
