Ellie Kam/Danny O'Shea - Ellie's dad was career USAF, Academy grad, and both her brothers are/were at USAFA as well.

Emily Chan/Spencer Howe - Spencer is currently in the Army. Plus Emily is from Mckinney!

I presume that the tournament organizers kept Italy out of groups with Canada and the US intentionally (perhaps they were "seeded" as would be the case at the World Cup), to avoid an embarrassing result for the host nation.

Not that it helped; Finland beat them like a rented mule as they needed to run up the score to secure their own place in the quarterfinals.

France was the other team in the tournament without a pulse. Not sure if the Canadians got them as they were the top team in the rankings, or just luck of the draw.

NEVERMIND - it actually says they are reseeded after the QF round.

Can anyone explain the logic of the Olympic Hockey schedule in the bracket round putting #1 seed vs #2 seed in the semifinal round?

1 Canada
2 USA
3 Slovakia
4 Finland
