This is so dumb, for a number of reasons. Also, didn't we literally see them kill animals on Pandora, to presumably eat? Wasn't there some bit about not wasting any part of the animal?

Did he also have the actors kill members of the military like in the movie?

Exactly. Where do you draw the line on stuff like this? You could do this on any movie, for any lifestyle or profession, and all it would amount to would be endless/senseless virtue signaling.

This is why I find Cameron insufferable even though he has made several of my all-time favorites.

Plus, flip the switch.what if he said you could only eat meat on set? He would get crucified.

This is going to sound elitist as hell, but AMC movie theaters depress the hell out of me. They're way too corporate/cheesy, the crowds always suck, the food is disgusting, and to sound even more petty, I can't stand the red seats (theater seats should be black, always). I avoid AMC at all costs, so no, I don't have the A-List thing. That said, I totally get that AMC is the only thing offered in most cities, and they're actually probably better in most cities that aren't LA. But for me it's...

- TLC Mann's Chinese Theater IMAX for blockbusters.
- The Landmark for awards fare.
- The ArcLight Hollywood, once it finally reopens, for everything else (and sometimes for the above as well).

I'm with you on the AMCs. Im in Houston, and they are mostly out in the sticks plus they are pretty ghetto. We stick to the big Regal Marqee and IPIC.

Ashton Kutcher did this himself when he was "training himself" to portray Steve Jobs since he was vegan…..landed himself in the hospital cause of it

Pretty sure that was only fruit though. Huge difference.

Obligatory when discussing James Cameron and his massive ego:

"James Cameroooon, the bravest pioneer…!"
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

Quote:

"I think I felt, at the time, that we clashed over certain things," Cameron said. "For example, the studio felt that the film should be shorter and that there was too much flying around on the ikran what the humans call the banshees. Well, it turns out that's what the audience loved the most, in terms of our exit polling and data gathering. And that's a place where I just drew a line in the sand and said, 'You know what? I made 'Titanic.' This building that we're meeting in right now, this new half-billion dollar complex on your lot? 'Titanic' paid for that, so I get to do this.'"

And now flying around on those is the best ride at Disney World.

In Dolby 4K HDR, and 3D. Don't think I've done 4K HDR before.

Let's do this thing.

Seeing it in IMAX 3D with my kids tomorrow.

Honestly, not super excited for myself...didn't hate it, but not a movie I would rewatch if it were on TV. But I remember being blown away in the theater and want to see how my kids react having never seen a 3D movie.

Man, the image quality on Dolby 4K HDR, combined with 3D, is just ridiculous. Legit feels like looking through a window at times.

And the CGI still holds up. Looks better than anything from 2022.

Also, I'm 90% sure they snuck in some extra dialogue right at the end that sets up the sequel. Might have been a deleted scene that they put back in for this.

Can't wait for Way of Water.

Awesome. How was The Way of Water footage at the end? There's apparently a new trailer or something.

I only saw the first avatar due to a friend RIP saying how great the 3d was.

The 3D was so great I am trying to convince my kids to go see the re-release since they were too young at the time. The movie itself is good but that 3D blew me away. Most 3D movies were just gimmicky at the time.

I walked out before I knew about it, which bummed me out at first, but then you know how I like knowing as little as possible, so kind of glad I missed it.

I never saw Avatar, I was out in the boonies of east Africa and the one theater back then that showed western movies always switched out films after two weeks with no exceptions. I think by the time i made it back to town Cop Out was playing instead. I tried buying a street bootleg (which at the time was literally the only way you could see anything not in the theater then) and watched about 15 minutes on an 8" laptop screen before i realized this had to be seen in 3D on the biggest screen possible and it was pointless to do otherwise.

Fast forward to today, and I just walked out a bit ago from finally seeing it with my daughter who has become completely enthralled with Avatar after a trip to Disney world this summer. Fun fun fun. Just an amazing spectacle. The effects and 3D still hold up and was just a great time at the movies.

The remastered 4K HDR version of the biggest movie ever was catnip to fans with No. 1s in several markets and, as designed, sets the table for James Cameron's upcoming sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water.

If anyone's keeping score, that puts Avatar at $2.878 billion, adding to a now $80M lead on Endgame for #1.

I wonder if Disney/Marvel would re-release Endgame, if anything just for some quick and easy money. I would think a lot more people would want to go back and see it on the big screen again.

Maybe before the next Avengers movie? Whenever that is.

Could easily see all the avengers movies being a thing every few years.

The whole MCU has gotten to big to binge it all straight
