This season is so absurd.
Just terribly writing
Hate what they've done with the Jack Ryan character

I don't disagree, but at this point (three seasons in) we kind of know what we're going to get. They've decided to give their leading actor *all* the skills usually divvied up between 3-4 characters from the books. It simplifies the storytelling and gets Jim Halpert on the screen more. They're not going to deviate from that going forward.

I was sort of expecting them to tie in the new Michael B. Jordan John Clark character this season, but I guess that wasn't in the cards.

I like Krasinski

but having a morbidly obese CIA officer as the hero is a bit much.

"we want our clandestine agents to blend in wherever they go!" so let's cast a 6 foot 4 fat black guy who draws attention wherever he walks

this series is much better in book form- this season is more like "here is a pretty view of Greece! Now here is a pretty view of Budapest from the Danube!"

there has not been a single shocking moment, cliffhanger or interesting twist. they for some reason give away the plot before showing what happens next.
Krasinski is 6-4 (or close to it) and also proves your point about how does he "blend in" at that height.

However, Wendell Pierce is 5-8 (if that) but definitely morbidly obese but his height is not a giveaway, only his girth.

And I think any black guy in a suit walking around in Moscow is going to stand out.

I love how a black guy in the CIA is what bothers y'all the most

My comment was only that he was obese and would stand out for that reason alone. The other comment was that a Black man in Russia would likely stand out based simply on the demographics of the country but hey, lets call someone racist!!!

This season was so terrible.

I don't remember the first two being so ridiculous.

I agree, the first season was the best IMO, second season was tolerable. Third season is too on the nose

I thought this season was better than S2, but that may be recency bias.

Did anyone recognize the actor who played the American captain of the sub in the finale? He looked familiar and it's Russ Langmore from Ozark (Marc Menchaca):

To tie this into your Game Of Thrones reference the actor (who was born in San Angelo btw) just married Cersei this past October. He looks a lot different than he did in Ozark.

Also an Aggie!
Wow! How did I not know that. So an Aggie is married to Cersei Lannister, who ever woulda thunk it.
Shame!!

So much bad in this season. Plot holes, ridiculous scenes, not to mention about half the season could have been averted if the US President simply picked up the phone and called the Russian prez. Heck the Czech prez could have too.
But Michael Bay, sooo…

Since it's supposed to end after next season I will probably stick it out, reluctantly.

Not this show per se, but figure this is the best place for Clancyverse. If they screw up Rainbox Six it's gonna be tough to swallow.

Quote:

In a welcome surprise, Paramount has decided to take another shot at turning former SEAL John Clark into a movie franchise with Michael B. Jordan back in the role. The most exciting news is that they've recruited Chad Stahelski, the stuntman-turned-director behind all four "John Wick" movies, to helm "Rainbow Six."

Stahelski is also planning a "Highlander" remake with Henry Cavill, but it looks like "Rainbow Six" will be his first directing job that doesn't feature the Marine-turned-hitman John Wick. Now that we're past the origin story told in "Without Remorse," the director can get down to business with the action and mayhem he's so good at staging.

Yes it's the same character, but Harrison Ford is much more the Jack Ryan from the books, where Krasinski is a super spy who is named Jack Ryan.

There is no way in hell they can squeeze R6 into a single movie. Y'all read it before? It's beefy as hell and goes through several major arcs.

I have absolutely zero faith this can be pulled off as described at the moment.

If they were smart they have the whole major plot point that could be an overarching theme while each season hits some of the terrorist attacks.

It will be interesting to see how people react to a virus being made to wipe out most of humanity, in light of recent events. Or maybe they avoid it altogether

I'll never understand the book was this way so the movie has to be exactly the same fan boys. It would be like complaining that Doug Stamper was in the film.

What the hell would be the point? Do you want them to send you the script so you feel better knowing exactly what was going to happen as if you read the book before hand? If you're worried about knowing what's happening before it happens, play clue instead.

Like a lot of things on this site, the point is entertainment. And yet so many people can't just enjoy something without getting pissed off that it isn't perfect in their minds.

I enjoyed it. I think he's a great fit for the character in a lot of ways. He's not a super athletic, smooth guy and it fits the character perfectly. He's not a trained killer. He's not a sit behind a computer analyst. He's a blend and he pulls it off perfectly.

amazingly I just stopped watching this after episode 4

"13 Hours" is an amazingly awesome movie I have seen like 3 times

but these Jack Ryan series are just not making the cut.

I have seen foreign French movies which are better produced and look more like real "movies" than this Amazon series, which in many instances seems like a movie of the week on Hallmark channel
