Saw that Steely Dan 2020 & 2021 make up dates are scheduled for 5/31 here in AZ and several June dates in TX. Unfortunately I'll be out of the country, else I'd get tickets. Walter Becker passed away a few years ago, so it's just Donald ***en now, but still I bet it's a great show.

edit: why the heck is his name flagged? F-agen, geez mods.

One of my all time faves from back in the day. Didn't think Roland and Curt were speaking these days.

Thanks for heads up!

They split in the 90's w/ Roland carrying on the TFF name. They joined back together in the early 00's. They released an album, Everybody Loves a Happy Ending back in '04 or thereabouts (It's a really good album), and they've released a few singles over the past few years. Their new album, Tipping Point, isn't out yet, but the first single was released last month.

Did he bring out Uncle Ted and Rik Emmett to do "Whole Lotta Love"?

Nah he did lots of Montrose and even did a nice cover of Beastie Boys- Party. Plus Rick Springfield showed up for Jesse's girl and I've done everything for you.

If anyone is considering going to that boxing thing that has a Metallica show at the Globe Life field, they had pit tickets at 50% off ($150) on Thursday, deal lasted a day I think. Sales are poor so I won't be surprised if a GNR 2021 Tour situation happens with those tickets

it's probably poor sales because it was first announced as a 30 minute performance before the fight. Then all of a sudden it's a full show after. Quite confusing for a consumer.

any reason for no Houston show? this is a standard stop along all of their tours, right?

Houston gets skipped a lot honestly. I never noticed it as much until I moved to Denver, which is rarely skipped, owing to its geography with no other major cities nearby.

I think people who put together big tours assume DFW, Austin and Houston are all not necessary, since they are only a few hours drive between them.

Most of these markets are ones they didn't go to in 2019. So no surprise Dallas or Houston were not in it. Same thing they did with the 2013 leg of Maiden England.

EDIT: I actually just checked, and they didn't go to any of these markets in 2019. All new cities on the tour.

chicago, LA, san fran, seattle?

What tour doesn't stop at those markets?
jorgerr96
How long do you want to ignore this user?
They stopped in LA in 2019 which is why it is not included in 2022. They didn't play in the other 3 cities you mentioned, which is why they are included in the 2022 leg. This tour follows the usual pattern of Iron Maiden of going to the markets they didn't go to in the previous leg. They did the exact same thing with Maiden England.

In 2019 they went to LA, Dallas, Houston. NONE of the cities in the 2022 leg were on the 2019 leg.

And just like Maiden England, it's the same show. It's the same name of the tour. Same stage and props. They will just switch the set a tiny bit, Maiden usually changed maybe 1 or 2 songs of a legacy tour.

It's no different than what Metallica does. They toured arenas on every single market they didn't go to in 2017.

I get what you're trying to say, except iron maiden went to LA, SF, seattle, and chicago markets in 2019. Add toronto and boston to that list as well, so a good 25% of the 2022 tour is revisited markets.

Metallica did a true 'fill the gaps' tour, hitting only smaller markets in round 2.

Maybe you're just looking at cities

Tacoma = seattle
Concord = Oakland (= SF)
Anaheim = LA
Tinley park = chicago
Worchester = boston

etc etc.

Most of these 'cities' are <25 miles apart if that. Like driving from 'houston' to 'The woodlands'

jorgerr96
How long do you want to ignore this user?
True but I feel like these organizers will find any way to still book it as a different city or different market. It reminds me of the Jonas Brothers reunion tour from 2019, they had a show in Anaheim and then like two weeks later they played in Hollywood, and two months later they finished in Los Angeles.

So literally like 5 or 6 shows in the same area but different cities.

Not a lot of hip-hop on this thread, so maybe the wrong place to post, but Tobe Nwigwe absolutely crushed it at his concert last night at the 713 Music Hall in Houston.

Last show of the tour & he's a Houston native - he went for over 2.5 hours and never let up the energy.

As an added bonus, he brought out a slew of guests to rap both their verses on his songs, but also to throwback to their own legendary songs. The highlights were Lil' Keke (Southside), Bun B (his verse from Int'l Players Anthem), and Paul Wall & Slim Thug doing their verses from Still Tippin'.
(Non-Houston guests were D-Smoke and Royce da 5'9)

Olivia Rodrigo without a doubt the hardest ticket to get for me in a long time. Sale was only for verified fans and every show sold out too quick. I had to pay platinum, but don't think it was that bad. Going to the Irving show, Austin was too expensive. Houston has a GA ticket as platinum for $529.

This video of him playing at the Kansas basketball game before the arrest happened is pretty sweet. Imagine the poor ******* that had to reclaim his or her own seat after the greatest living drummer imo just sat in it.
