Still wouldn't see it, but doesn't look as obnoxious as brosRyan the Temp said:You'll probably get your chance to see the contrast when "Spoiler Alert" comes out starring Jim Parsons.Quote:
Also, I will parrot the idea that Billy Eichner is insufferable. He, along with a couple other characters, completely ruined Parks and Rec. If you are trying pick someone to be the face of normalizing gay relationships, then you are choosing the wrong person. He is horrible, annoying, and hateful.
Go with someone like Neil Patrick Harris, who has always come off as charming and likeable. Granted, I still don't want to see him fellate a dude, either, though I've always liked him in any interview I see.
I forget what the name of the phenomenon is called, but it is crazy how often Hollywood will have two incredibly similar movies released in the same time frame.HoustonAg2106 said:Still wouldn't see it, but doesn't look as obnoxious as brosRyan the Temp said:You'll probably get your chance to see the contrast when "Spoiler Alert" comes out starring Jim Parsons.Quote:

Would not make any difference. When it comes down to it, "straight, white, middle aged males" is just simply not the demographic that movies like this appeal to. I'm in this demographic and all the marketing in the world is simply not going to make me want to see this movie.Quote:
If they wanted to attract straight white middle aged males, maybe advertise it a bit on platforms that my demographic might frequent.
That movie is great. Tom Selleck is a scene-stealer.Carlo4 said:
No mention of this classic movie yet?
Read the thread title, bro. God you are insufferable.TCTTS said:
No one said it was a "go to great comedy," just like no one said it was a "character flaw" not to like it.
The scene with Kristen Wiig calling the Baby Karen a little c--- was worth the price of admission.Quote:
Regardless, over the past decade or so, Bridesmaids *is* one of the few comedies that comes to mind as an across-the-board crowd pleaser.

I'd pay to watch TC and Dallas duke it out MMA style.

um well..........I am have been married to a latina for 22+ years and she has absolutely no interest in this movie either. In fact, she let the "Mexican" out recently when a commercial was on our big screen in our living room and she was like WTF is this? During prime time? Are you kidding me?AggieUSMC said:Would not make any difference. When it comes down to it, "straight, white, middle aged males" is just simply not the demographic that movies like this appeal to. The truth is that this film attracts a very small audience across all America. I have no interest in gay male films (sorry, not sorry, I was born this way). Neither does my wife or pretty much anyone we know. No one is talking about this just the same way they don't talk about any other film that bombed. We just don't care. Likewise, I don't watch NASCAR or soccer or baseball. Boring. Not interested. Zero f's to give. Get over it.

I would imagine it's a result of studios, producers, and screenwriters shopping around and pitching different projects, passing, accepting, etc and going down the rumor mill.
Word gets around town in Hollywood.
People hear about X studio making Y screenplay with Z stars attached to it, and the rest is just Fear of Missing Out.

That's great! It's good to know your Latina wife let out the "Mexican" while having a homophobic reaction to a movie trailer.
