One of us is backing the cause of putting gay romance into cartoons for kids and one of us says that's bad. I'm comfortable letting God, reality, and history judge between us.
It's the same crowd that called Desantis a "book banning nazi" for having "Gender Queer", a literal lgbtq cartoon porn book graphically depicting oral sex and sodomy, removed from children's school libraries. Even the most rational, normal, every day democrats I know were wailing about that. It's crazy. Every single dem senator just voted in favor of men crushing women in sports competition and then showering and changing with them afterwards. But remember, we are the backwards freaks lol.
I've never once called Desantis anything of sort, and I'm 100% for banning books in children's schools that depict oral sex or sodomy. So, no, not "the same crowd" in any way, shape, or form, but the straw man argument is once again telling that you don't have a leg to stand on in this particular argument.
I'll probably regret this comment, but the whole 'voted in favor of men crushing women in sports' is a good example of the gross oversimplifications often used to make everything us vs them.
There's something like 10 trans athletes out of 500,000+ in the NCAA, and despite what the dumbest senator would like you to believe there are not entire high school teams of boys playing in girls leagues. There's lots of room to develop reasonable policies around this (let young kids play whatever, find ways to evaluate if an athlete has a competitive advantage due to physical development in certain age groups, draw a line for scholarship athletes at a certain level, etc.), but instead of even trying to even have those discussions it's become this massive polarized issue that literally decided some elections while being something that affects almost no one. And even if you might not agree with my specific take on that, it's dumb to think that I or anyone else wants physically developed men playing women's sports because some senators voted that way.
You can apply 'the same crowd' in dozens of ways to make anyone sound stupid and extreme, but most people's views are far more complex and nuanced than that. And the more distracted people are fighting amongst themselves the less attention they pay to what's going on with the people actually pulling the strings.
Y'all are completely ****ing insane that you are even entertaining these discussions. You are not serious people. You should be treated as such.
I have boys. My boys are absolute muscled up beasts. If you think my boys should be able to compete in competitive sports against your daughters you should have the state take your kids away from you. My 16 year old benched 260 last week.
Reality is lost on libs. Get a ****ing clue. JFC what is wrong with y'all.???
Dude.
Chill.
Did you even read his post?
"Draw a line"
"Develop reasonable policies"
"At a certain level"
I'm NOT advocating for letting biological males compete against biological females in any meaningful way. Especially in high school and above, and especially not in major sports. I'm 100% for protecting biological females in that regard, their safety, their scholarships, etc.
But if some fourth grader who thinks he's a girl wants to play on a girls soccer team, and isn't a physical threat in any serious way... fine.
You would think, when I said earlier...
If Disney was out there trying to brainwash your kids into transitioning, or getting gender-affirming surgery or whatever, I would be right there with you. Because that's something that can have actual, negative, irreversible effects on them.... that I would be on your side.
But no, like a handful of people here, you don't read ****, you ignore all nuance, and instead jump immediately to the most extreme conclusions. In other words, you're doing EXACTLY what he's critiquing, which is falling into this insane, chest-beating, frothing-at-the-mouth, "my boys are muscled up beats" nonsense over something that affects next to no one.
THAT'S what my "amen" was in regards to - calling out the ridiculous tendency on this board to otherize, polarize, and group together anyone who isn't on the extreme right as evil libs, especially when I've said probably a hundred times now I've never voted Democrat in my life.
