Back in the day when I was really active with the 12th Man, I fought for getting individual vendors like Buc-ees, Whataburger, a place like Fuego, Double Dave's, Blue Baker, a bbq joint, etc. I got shot down.

Actually we had a ton of ideas. And a lot were later implemented. Dealing with the A&M administration is not fun.

I generally am ok with their mindset. Fewer vendors are much easier to control and hold accountable. But HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

How sad a move for Steak is Shake. They're so irrelevant they have to swim in the social media wake of another dying chain for relevance.

What was woke about the change?

Also, the change didn't start 3 days ago.

Please be specific.

Read the thread. Start on page one. I don't feel like recapping the whole thing for you. You can put in a little effort if you'd like to contribute to the discussion here.

I did contribute to the discussion on multiple pages. I just needed you to simply clarify your not-so-hot take so I could respond to you directly and accordingly. But apparently you don't have a true opinion and you're just part of the pile on culture I've already discussed on the thread.

Which is perfectly fine.

pile on culture or just people's opinions? proof is in the pudding they lost money for their shareholders not a smart move.

Large mass produced food is never as good as vendors. Get a vendor who allows smaller, independent food vendors.

Ahh, so it's retaliatory because he didn't get to load the board with his picks. Makes even more sense. Putting my tin foil hat on, it might even lead one down the road of why the social media outrage blew up last week.

Again, don't disagree. I can just understand why an entity as large as A&M would go with the 1 vendor solution. Doesn't mean I agree or support it.

This was before the Kyle renovation so I think I am safe.
And the whole Levy thing is the easy way out. I hate the easy way out.

The mystery to me here is that CB bought Maple Street Biscuit Co. back in 2019. It a great concept that scratches the hipster doofus "artisan baker" vibe brunch place. We enjoy both concepts. So do our Gen Y and Z children. When we are in the mood for CB, we go to CB. When we are the mood for something like Maple Street, we go to Maple Street.

I just don't see this working out well for them. I think CBs problem is they overbuilt. There are too many of them now.

CB fans are like traditional Country Music fans. Deeply loyal and stick with you for life as long as you stay true to why they become fans in the first place. CB is chasing the fickle consumer that likes the "next thing" and moves on when the next thing comes around.

As someone who used to design a lot of logos the new one disturbs me mainly in the sense that there's way too much yellow/orange space around the text.

Just tighten it up.

But the funny thing is them pretending that this is just a small group that's upset over this. It's not. They're not listening to their clients. And they're doubling down on the bull*****

We go to Cracker Barrel every now and then my 89 year-old mother definitely likes it. And I was little annoyed that they had taken ham off the menu for dinner. You can only get country ham or the barrel cut ham for breakfast now. I guess I could've ordered a breakfast, but I didn't really want all the other stuff. But they have plenty of other things on the menu and it kinda had this campfire corn/beef/carrots/onions thing in foil that was actually very good.

It's also one places you can get true country ham. My mom grew up in Tennessee and we would get there at the lake all the time and I never had it anywhere else down here except for cracker Barrel

This post alone proves you never designed logos in any major capacity. Just a means to an ending paragraph.

What? I designed logos for years for big six firms and everyone else. Trinkets and trash, printed items, cups T-shirts, mouse pads everything you can think of. It's a poor use of the space.

I'm saying they're upset over the general rebrand not necessarily the logo. Is that what you were talking about?

What the hell are you talking about?

Tchotchkes aren't company brands and logos. How many did you create from scratch? Which companies switched their entire logo and brand to your design?

You don't have to play nice. I know what my career was. You don't have to be condescending since you're the one that doesn't know what he's talking about.

Both. It was several decades. I came up with many new logos for programs or software or company names out of thin air. Nothing was there before. I've also modified or updated logos before. Almost anything you can think of I have designed it.

I was also a writer, editor and wrote many articles that were published in national magazines and publications.

I was even editor of the Texas Aggie Magazine for a year and a half.

Logo design is logo design whether it's new or redone.

The logo has too much space around the text.
