That's awesome. Texags should hire you for the next rebrand.
So what are your thoughts in the current age of brand redesigns with regard to what Cracker Barrel decided to do?
If you want my opinion I don't think they should have gone as minimalist as they did, but I recognize the issues with the old logo not being easily applicable to advertise in the current era.
Thank you.
Taking the man out of it doesn't bother me as much as other people. I think they could've tried to posterize him even more to make it more modern and work him in within the logo rather than next to it and maybe they did because usually when you redo logos, there are a lot of different versions. Many times when I would throw in a few extras just to have a few more. They'd often pick one I didn't like very much so I kind of quit doing that.
I see why they kept it as close to the original as possible. I think the whole minimalistic thing is a little too much given the history of the restaurant. Personally, I like to look around them and see all the stuff on the walls. It's funny to see these photos of people from like 100 years ago that ended up in a restaurant. A lot of the other stuff is remanufactured to look old, but it's still interesting.
I really think what the problem is is is once again it's a liberal CEO, not listening to what the people want and pushing their agenda. I mean, there are a lot of brands that can go through a modernization and be good but they need to think about most of the clientele that go here.I've seen a few videos on Twitter showing the new decor and it's very sterile and it doesn't look great but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen.
The arrogance in the doubling-down on this rebrand is weird. I think ultimately it isn't going to work out for her, but who knows.
