Well, this explains quite a bit....

We went this weekend. There are some additions to the menu...not sure which are seasonal additions or what.
Short of that, I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. The food's still pretty much the same. You're just not surrounded by a bunch of dusty, fake artifacts.
did you got Cracker barrel this weekend so you could make this post here? lol
No. My parents wanted to go.
SEE? THEY'RE STILL REACHING THE SAME DEMOGRAPHICS!!
while losing over 100 million in value ok bud hope you had a good dining experience.
I just don't get the outrage...even moreso after this weekend.
its similar to Bud light
So we're not upset about the actual product, just the package it comes in or who it's marketed to?
Because that's ridiculous.
You dont' really know much about marketing and brand management, do you? You really dont understand this?

The only real difference is that the walls aren't OD green any more and they removed all that crap that was hanging on the walls. And if that's so ****ing important, I wonder why more people don't eat in their garage?

You're actually making the point. You're telling people what they should like and not like. Apparently the existing customer base did like how they were decorated and had an affinity for the old logo. You're basically telling them they're stupid for doing so. Just by looking at the CEO I can hear her saying the exact same thing.
I don't really care. I don't think I've been in a CB in more than 20 years. I'm also not in marketing or the restaurant business so I have absolutely no idea on how to address the problem of a declining customer base due to age. But my first guess would be to not alienate them. You don't get to decide what they like, don't like, or why.

Yep, makes no sense to spend $700m to redecorate when the consumer base wants a top tier chicken fried steak that's not from a Sysco truck.

Better quality food is going to have to be part of it too, but you gotta get 'em in the doors first.

I already stated I'm not in marketing nor the restaurant industry. But for starters I would have a very keen feel for the existing base. My guess is they're mostly white, middle age to elderly, middle class economically. Likely Republican, resistant to change, and really don't like to be lectured to, especially by elitist types. So,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,don't piss that group off.
I don't even think what they did was "woke". It was ill advised. Wall Street agreed.

Or, on a really good Pink Floyd album.

The existing base ain't getting it done for them over the last two fiscal years.

Cracker Barrel admits it 'could've done a better job' after new logo backlash.
"If the last few days have shown us anything, it's how deeply people care about Cracker Barrel. We're truly grateful for your heartfelt voices," the company said. "You've also shown us that we could've done a better job sharing who we are and who we'll always be."
The company said what has not and "will never change" are the values Cracker Barrel was built on when the Lebanon, Tennessee-based chain first opened in 1969.

Cracker Barrel has funded "all ages" Pride events for many years like Nashville Pride and Third River City Pride.
Cracker Barrel worked with the far left HRC organization and reportedly sponsored HRC events for 10 years. They even brought an HRC representative to their Tennessee HQ to do a pronoun and transgenderism training. We've included photos of this in the video. As a reminder, the HRC supports child sex changes and men in women's bathrooms. They work to normalize/legalize those things and they work to force transgenderism into the workplace.
Cracker Barrel was awarded Out & Equal's 2018 top LGBT ERG group award and they won the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce "Corporate Diversity" award.

True.
It also seemed to be prevalent on H.R. Pufnstuf
Witchypoo and Freddy. Can't remember the kids name.
There was an owl and a female Puf too.

Yes.
Do a commercial with Syd, Snoop, Tom Brady, Shaq, and Sam Elliot all sitting around a table at CB eating breakfast. Who cares what it costs. Show Sydney licking the syrup off her fork.
