No way she could beat him if he even played a year or two of basketball in HS. I don't think people realize how awful even the best female basketball players are.

The best ball handling women to ever exist would get dominated by average Joe's at the rec center.

Why isn't Tony Finau wildly popular? How about Sahith Theegala? They're both long hitting talented golfers of color. Most people haven't heard of them because they're not remotely as successful as Tiger was. Tiger & Nicklaus are the most famous golfers because they won far more than any other golfer of their time. Tiger's race is a footnote.

I don't think his race was as much of a factor as his age and energy level. It was also the way he'd win too...stone cold assassin. I wasn't even that into golf back then and I remember it being must see TV...you could almost never count him out.

100%. Tiger won in dramatic fashion many times. He was the king of making the HUGE putts down the stretch to win tourneys.

Way too many to count but the clutch putt (though he botched the hole up to that point) on 18th in the final round of the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines just to send it to a playoff while playing with a fractured tibia and torn ACL is just mind boggling.

And the league changed the way they called fouls, especially on the hard fouls going to the basket, in order to prolong Jordan's career. If he had continued to take the fouls throughout his career like he did from the Bad Boys, he may not have made it to 30 years old prior to retiring.

Some of the A&M's women's team lived at sterling when we lived there. They routinely boatraced the other tenants on the court there.

Most of the dudes at the Rec Center were preatty solid back in the early 2000's, and had clearly played HS basketball. I didn't mean to imply any random collection of males could beat the best women.
