LOL, certainly a possibility! We were finally able to get back to our room about 7 tonight. The police routed everybody through the employee entrance. The main entrance is still closed, of course. All of the intersections around Trump International and the Fashion Show Mall are still blocked, too. Hopefully the blockade will be lifted in the morning, but nobody knows anything for sure as of tonight. We've really enjoyed staying here, exploding Cybertrucks notwithstanding.

Seems like half of LVPD is protecting us now! Will sleep well tonight. We were planning on leaving tomorrow anyway, so no significant effect on our plans. We had a fun time. Just wish our Ags hadn't choked away the game.

Anyone with a passing knowledge of lithium battery fires would have seen that video and determined that something other than lithium batteries were involved and yet with your very clearly limited knowledge confidently proclaimed it was a 90% certainty it was nothing more than a normal battery fire. A knowledgeable person would have placed the probability of it being an explosive event like that solely based upon the battery pack at 0%.


Even a person without a familiarity wit lithium battery fires and a general capacity for critical thinking would think "Cybertruck, Trump Hotel, Explosion, random? Unlikely."


You learn nothing by leaning into your preconceptions despite evidence to the contrary.

It is likely the battery never ignited in that truck, despite being blown up. Should give you some sense about how hard it actually is to get a lithium battery pack to ignite.

Grain of salt is very wise. Best not to take too much at face value early. It would be interesting though, if Green Beret, for they are very politicized. See Milley.

Why is it a hell of a coincidence?


Have you sene the amount of hate spewed at musk and trump recently?

It would be a coincidence to have a cyber truck, perhaps the most recognizable musk product, end up on fire underneath a trump hotel porte-cochere.
And the alternative that someone was both smart enough and persistent enough to track down a cyber truck, know where it was headed, booby trap it, and time a fire (implying remote detonation) seems more likely? You've seen too many spy movies.

ETA The greatest property damage here is neither Musk nor Trump, but rather the person that owns the vehicle. Seems like an awfully inefficient way to send a message.

The first couple pages of this one are pretty hilarious to review, with hot takes about this being 'just an EV fire.'

All of the monitoring/telemetry here made it pretty easy for them to rule out a spontaneous vehicle problem quickly, and track the guy's identity down.

In this case the bizarre construction of this vehicle actually prevented more damage. I guess it's good he didn't use a Model X or Y.

And this guy had real military experience, not some HR-specialist CSS stuff etc. I had guessed on page 2 or so this was a domestic one and not 'Isis' etc more likely (or whatever islamic group) just because it was seemingly designed to go after Trump and Musk for propaganda, not to kill people.
Now, was he actually in the vehicle? Was he divorced and/or did his ex have a baby (his?) in June?



Interesting the Islamist murderer was also divorced.

The video and other information they sent the police almost certainly included the proof the dead man was who they say it was not to mention they probably already have matched things like dental records.

Also, it is a good thing he used a Cybertruk vs a gasoline ICE because there likely would have had a secondary explosion/fire from the gasoline tank. The battery appears to have never caught fire despite the explosion. I am surprised he didn't add some propane tanks into the mix since they can add a lot of secondary explosions that are powerful as well.

I agree. He used a Cybertruk because it is very distinctive in shape and identified with Musk. It also could carry a lot more mortars and other explosives than any other Tesla vehicle.

Haven't see either. IF it is the same base, it starts to matter. Edit: this profile says nothing about military experience.
But they both list unmanned/autonomous vehicle expertise. If it's not the same guy, then that's a wild coincidence having the same name and similar expertise.

I'm not army… but that strikes me as a weird work chronology… how do you take 11months while you're presumably a comm specialist(?) to work General Dynamics & claim to have been in charge of a significant delivery? 19 years, so nearing full retirement… And I basically know nothing of GB career paths, but… comm to intel to ops?

Is this just a weirdo support guy who claims GB by proxy?

Not sure this is a credible source...claims to be an independent news reporter...but Fort Bragg was also a place frequently visited by Ryan Routh.

I don't think so. I think he was the real deal. I'm not an expert in their career progression steps etc. either. The army changed a ways back to where you can retire at 19 with only relatively minor adjustments I think, it's not the 'magic 20' any longer, and he might have been injured at some point too. Tough way to make a living over 2 decades.

Again, I haven't really dug into his background further and figure we'll learn more from those close to him over the next few weeks.

Respectfully disagree. Different hairline, different front teeth appearance. Both of these could have been cosmetically altered, but the pictures posted above seem to be different people.
