My 7th group buddy left to Columbia, came back, divorced his wife and brought back a Columbian and married her.

Not unheard for second families in those parts.

I have multiple SF buddies with an online presence. Not everyone completely shuts it off.

Just don't be an idiot.

So the Ukrainian war recruitment effort of his definitely checks out. With training and real world experience in irregular warfare is this an incident of "going native"? Build up of PTSD and finally went off the rails? Drug induced psychosis?

This will be a good follow.
What if the Russians killed him (for recruiting for Ukraine) and put him in the truck to stage the scene and send a message?

It possibilities are endless once you get out of the weeds and view the situation from the Top Down and not ground up.

It's pretty much useless trying to dig through old social media posts from a guy and his wife and trying to determine why he blew himself up.

Looking at it from the perspective from top down.

Who had the ability to activate these terrorists on the same day and had the ability to make them "go commit suicide'? And most importantly why did those in charge activate them?

We could sit here all day and speculate....pick one of mine or make up your own. Doesn't matter, none of us will ever learn if we were correct.

1) Putin has his own sheep dipped terror cells in the US, this was a message to Biden/Trump, if you don't stop f-ing around in Ukraine, I can make your lives hell.

2) Its a Deep State group in control of these guys and they are using it as a negotiation tactic to:
a) garner a pardon from Biden.
b) as a message to Trump, "make a deal with us" or we unleash the hounds.

With this one, you've got to remember that Biden was only able to commit treason because there were at least 51 intel people supporting his efforts (probably 100s more). These were fairly weak "terror" attacks. They started small and threatened with "Give us what we want or we unleash more and stronger ones".

3) Its about money. The Vegas bomb could have been industrial/business sabotage targeting Musk and Trump to hurt their brand names. A rival billionaire hired a shady private intel firm to pull this off. They had the plan on the back burner and decided to take advantage of the NOLA attack as cover. Kill the driver, hack the Tesla, blow it up. A week later come out with stories of how the truck was hacked and remotely driven......How many people would feel safe in a Tesla after that? Granted this one is unlikely but I've read The Pelican Brief back in the day.....nothing is impossible.

4) It's the Chinese playing the long game sowing the seeds of civil war discontent in the US prior to their Spring invasion of Taiwan.

5) It is truly ISIS backed/coordinated and these were the trigger signals for other cells in the US to activate within 48 to 96 hours. And these were just the starting of a global Holy War .......

Etc.

Quite a list of possibilities. What they all have in common is the presumption (seemingly now justified) that the events were indeed linked.

Agreed. When I first saw this, my first thougt outside them being linked was the Trump Building event was somehow botched and did not go as planned. That is why this one is so confusing. I have no proof or real basis for this but I initially thought something did not go as planned on this one.

It's one thing to tell somebody to go **** themself (we can all do that with a magazine and some privacy)

It's a whole another level when you can convince someone to go kill themself.

How his social media is he never was front line, he was always support. ODA green berets have very strict rules on what they can post about on social media and he broke all kinds of rules. I have friends in 5th and 7th group, they deleted their social media platforms and haven't been back on sense. He also said he was an 18X which means you are a highly qualified civilian and go to green beret qualification school without any military experience. Rare but after Afghanistan they started pushing this, especially for college graduates.

Also graduated from a military college in 2019 but stayed enlisted, also rare but not unheard of. But by stating enlisted he was likely missing out on several thousand a month. Was probably just in the national guard at that time but who knows.

One of those situations if it were fish I wouldn't eat it.

Honestly, 18X just means he had a really high ASVAB score and was already in good shape. They were really trying to push SOF numbers during that timeframe.

Being enlisted and having a degree isn't all that uncommon. It's almost expected now for E-7/E-8 to have a bachelors, and for E-9's to have or be working towards a masters degree.

Yup. And the bonuses for those guys are really high. Additionally, going the commissioned route makes you much more likely to be moved off the teams.

Finally, some guys just like being NCOs. I could've gone to OCS years ago. I preferred the experience and opportunities that staying an NCO provided me. I retire in a couple months, and I don't regret not commissioning for an instant, even if it would've meant a bigger check.

I had a degree in hand when I enlisted with the intent to later commission if I wanted. Made NCO pretty quick and then went the warrant officer route. Best of both worlds.

Serious kwerstion ... What do you call a warrant officer when speaking to one?

I know my dad, an E7, was always "Sarge" or "Sgt", and other ranks have their easy names..but a WO?

Just wondering.

Depends on when considering that group's enabling by Brennan and Kerry. It doesn't rule out coordination per-se. Maybe that it is Muslim. That seems to be what Lara Logan was alluding to.

LOL. No. In fact he was a neo-nazi OUN supporter of the war in Ukraine. He and his wife were strident anti-Trumpers.
Quote:

Coined by Ukrainian nationalists in the early 20th century, the phrase was popularized by Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera's wing of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). It was declared the official rallying cry of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2018 by President Pyotr Poroshenko, who came to power after the US-backed Maidan coup in 2014.

Since the conflict with Russia escalated in 2022, "Slava Ukraini" has become an internationally recognized slogan used by Kiev's supporters. Before, however, it was predominantly used by neo-Nazis and other Ukrainian right-wing extremists.

At the time the photo was posted, Livelsberger was serving as an intelligence and operations specialist with the US Army's elite Green Berets, according to his LinkedIn profile. An Army spokesman told CBS News that Livelsberger served for 19 years, and was stationed near Stuttgart in Germany before he took leave and returned to the US last month.

It defies all logic why a MAGA/Trump guy would kill himself in a Tesla in front of a Trump Tower. And we've seen plenty of TDS rumors/comments online elsewhere from him/his wife or ex wife about hating Trump etc. Goodness gracious.

Like I said, we'll ultimately find out but ISIS convincing a non-Muslim American to carry out a suicide mission seems pretty low on the list of likely outcomes. You truly think this is more probable than a distraught dude who wants to send a political message on his way out, a la the dude who set himself on fire?
titan

Not more probable, no. And confused threads besides. The "Trump new message" thread had the Lara Logan remark. So non sequitur.

What rule out is that he was a Trump supporter in any way. The wife angle makes it even less likely.

I haven't read up on the guy very much but just by his chosen target and vehicle, I think it's pretty clear he had a political ax to grind against Trump/Elon/etc. I'll be very surprised if that's not ultimately the case.

Not sure of other branches but in the Army a WO1 is mister and WO2 or higher is chief. So when I was WO1 I was Mister Teslag and now as a WO3 it's Chief Teslag or usually just chief.

But the other poster is right. I'm rarely around. Warrants have defined roles and are considered SME's and we don't really lead troops as commissioned officers do. So we exist in a gray world and are pretty much left alone.

I almost went Warrant to be a property book officer. Glad I didn't. I ended up getting into counter WMD stuff for the last 7 years, and will now be working in a related field as a civilian.
