The 757 has about half the range of the 747 so it's not suitable for overseas. A bit surprised he is not using it domestically.

Went through pretty extensive refurb a few years ago. Also believe it was upgraded to have more advanced navigation systems making reliance on our ancient ATC not as relevant.
How would that work? Do they just get to fly where they want without being under the control of ATC? Just land and take off when they wish? Choose their own routing and altitudes?

CTAF?

Agree to disagree
I think Trump
Will use it in his post presidency and the DOD will do a full maintenance etc and turn it over to the Trump Ptesidential center in like new condition
Trump will leave office at 82 years of age use it for5-10 years before parking at his library

Lord Eric, of course not. But they use other systems to ensure they don't crash into other planes and helicopters. They kind not necessary if the ATC was provided by something newer than Fred Flintstone Aviation.

Are you talking about TAS? That is very common now days. It does not, in any way, replace ATC, though.

The 757 has a range around 4000 nm. It's used as a transcontinental aircraft all the time...

Transcontinental would be the definition of not overseers.

Before one of our resident aviation experts chimes in, I understand a 757 can transverse the oceans.

But I think AF1 has requirements regarding excess fuel, weights, persons, cargo that would render the 757 not practical for trips abroad for POTUS.
Transcontinental means that the flights go from one continent to another.

There are two options in dealing with the Muslim Middle Eastern countries.

First, the last Dem Admin option of GIVING billions to a M.E. country. One that is the worlds leading terrorist supporting state. The 2nd option is the faux outrage option of a M.E. country giving us money or gifts,. I don't like either option, but # 2 obviously is better. The marxist media scumbags sure were quiet about Xiden doing option # 1.

I think by definition it means "across multiple continents" but has commonly been used in American centric speak to mean across our continent. Transcontinental flights. Transcontinental railroad.

All that aside, the 757 would seem ill suited for long distance international travel by POTUS.

But this now all seems irrelevant because sources above say the Dems have Qatari payroll records showing deposits to Bondi, Patel and Others and that the free plane to Trump is related to this as either an additional payment or as a bribe to keep Trump from looking at the corruption.

Again, sources say and evidence uncovered by those anonymous sources suggest that this may have happened potentially in a way that could be seen as a bribe depending on additional circumstances and information that may become available at a later date, according to unnamed sources.

Trump has a documented history and had to pay restitution a coupe of times for using Foundation for his own personal use

Trump made an insane amount of
Money on his meme coin he has the cash to cover operating expenses for a 747 for 10 years of his Post presidency

The foundation stuff was Trump-ed up nonsense. And if he paid it pack, then it's like it never even happened, right?

The $TRUMP coin is not part of this thread and the only proceeds from the coin Trump related was the initial issuance and that went to two related Trump organizations that I have not seen who actually owns them at this point. So no, Trump has not made an instance amount of money on his meme coin" though I suspect his vast other business dealings would provide the case if needed.

Plenty to discuss without making things up though.

LOL.

Transcontinental is used in primarily Euro-centric aviation circles such as a.net to refer to US transcon routes. It would mean an entirely different thing in Asia, of course.

No one has proposed Trump traveling abroad on Trumpforce one while POTUS (the 757).

We have zero evidence of Bondi/Patel/others taking illicit payments from the Qatari's, who started negotiating to give the 747 in question to the US while Biden was president. Bondi was an agent for the Qatari's for 4 months in 2019, before even the Qatari's started trying to sell the plane.

My sources however are clear as to which side has taken more money, net, from our 'enemies' in Russia, China, and Qataris' by far, and over a period of many years, not just via the Clinton family foundation, Upenn Biden Center etc. Fang Fang or DiFi's driver could not be reached for comment to this post, least of all Valerie "I love the mullah's" Jarrett or Rashida Hamas Tlaib.

Maybe the Qatari 748 will be termed a "VC-47T." I've read speculation to that effect. Would make all the right heads explode.

How much Trump made in Crypto is relevant because one of the earlier talking points was how expensive it would be to maintain it and therefore it would be parked at his Library
And not for personal use

I don't think Trump is alone in using his Foundatiin for personal use but he has done it and no reason to think if the plane was part of his presidential center he would not use it

Someone needs to ask Jim Biden of the Biden crime familia why he was taking so much money from Qatari's for his sketchy healthcare company via a crypto outfit in Canada in 2017 as his brother was ramping up his presidential campaign, and why just a few years later his brother began negotiating to take this 747 from the Qatari's.

Is this one of the dozens of shell companies Joe and Hunter also were part owners of? Hopefully an investigator asks Joe before he passes/loses his faculties even further.
Quote:

"I am following up from the meeting we had with the Minister," wrote Lander. "Your approach with him was flawless. He requested more information on Americore."

In the previously unreported email, Lander suggested a potential request of $200 million and asked Jim Biden to provide more information on the potential benefits to Qatar of an investment deal.

Lander's email came five days after a large delegation of Qatari officials and business leaders visited Miami. It is not clear which minister Lander, who did not respond to requests for comments, was referring to.

Despite her upbeat email, the fundraising efforts hit a series of snags. The former Americore executive said that some of the issues pertained to legal restrictions on moving investment funds across borders, but the person said they were not versed in the details of those restrictions. The former executive recalled discussion at one point of trying to move money across a Middle Eastern border in the form of gold bars, but said they were not aware of any action taken on the idea.

One avenue that Jim Biden explored for getting investments to Americore was dependent on helping a payment processing company, Billerfy, gain access to the U.S. banking system, internal Americore emails show.

At the time, Billerfy processed payments for Canada's then-largest crypto exchange, Quadriga, which has since collapsed. A lawyer who has represented Billerfy, Philip Holdsworth of Robbins Appleby in Toronto, did not respond to requests for comment and POLITICO was unable to reach the company directly.
Oh, and did the Qatari's also donate to the Biden Center?
Quote:

This past week, the U.S. Department of Education's Office of the General Counsel accused the University of Pennsylvania of filing "incomplete, inaccurate, and untimely disclosures" "in possible violation of foreign source funding statutory disclosure obligations":
Quote:

UPenn failed to disclose any foreign financial funding until February 2019 brazenly ignoring the statutory disclosure requirement enacted in 1986 to which other prominent, well-funded universities had engaged in compliance efforts.
Once it began submitting statutorily required foreign funding information in 2019, UPenn disclosed 2,042 qualifying financial transactions involving foreign sources, revealing extremely high levels of foreign funding. According to UPenn's disclosure reports, foreign gifts and contracts received by UPenn through 2017 were valued at approximately $358 million dollars. After the establishment of the Penn-Biden Center in 2018 , foreign financial influence grew dramatically, totaling approximately $2.3 billion by 2025 a 542 percent increase in reportable foreign funding since 2018.
Back in January 2023, House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer, a Kentucky Republican, contended that the Penn Biden Center was a "foreign-sponsored source of income for much of a Biden Administration in-waiting."

"The Penn Biden Center appears to have acted as a foreign-sponsored source of income for much of a Biden Administration in-waiting," Comer said. "Between 2017 and 2019, UPenn paid President Biden more than $900,000, and the university employed at least 10 people at the Penn Biden Center who later became senior Biden administration officials," Comer said. "This level of access and opportunity raises questions about who had access to the classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center."

We all agree that backdoor payments and cash contribution to the president and his family are bad, right?
Right?
Caution some language, but again, yes:

Prepare for cries of "whatboutism" and "just because Biden / Obama made millions being POTUS and Trump lost billions" this Qatari plane deal is the biggest bribe in history and probably means Trump really wants to convert to Islam and lead the Houthis to world domination.

We are somehow still sliding downward to the amazingly unattainable peak nadir of lib logic. God help us.

Above poster I responded to somehow thought Trump's crypto had something to do with this, so I just logically linked the Qatari's and Biden's crypto/healthcare/Biden center scams in kind, since there's no actual evidence Trump will use 'crypto profits' to some day conceptually maintain this aircraft, and it was the Biden administration that started these negotiations for the aircraft as well.

Naturally, I don't expect any valid criticism of the links/sources I provided either.

He touched me on my heart and in my mind.

I've been supporting Trump since long before 2016 even 2012.

I think he is absolutely what this Country needed, maybe not what it deserved and I pray for him daily to deliver on putting America first and delivering his agenda.

At the very least it gives Trump a stick to beat Boeing with to meet the schedule of the two replacements… which are already well past their delivery date.

How does adding one more jet that needs upgrading do anything for the backlog of two jets undergoing the process ?

1st gen Military equipment and cost overruns and delayed delivery go together like Biscuits and Gravy

Trump just enjoys using Boeing as a whipping boy and he wants a relatively new 747* for his post presidency and to have it at his Presidential center Because the Reagan Center has a an AF1

* the Qatari 747 is newer and nicer than Trump's current 757

If Trump wants a plane for his library, there should be two newly retired ones to choose from. So that rationale makes zero sense. Trump's 757 is already to Trump's liking and is capable of heating his MickeyDs to perfection after the last upgrade.

Having two competing solutions is oft used when the original solution is overly delayed and over budget.

But correct, like all things Trump this is purely for his ego and personal benefit. Like getting shot in the ear, he is always looking to make it about himself.

It's been enjoyable debating you
You've been cordial and reasonable
After the press on the topic I doubt the deal goes through but
In conclusion If I am wrong I will buy you a state a steak dinner in 5 years after we are able to see how this plays out
My belief is this plane will be used for Trumps personal use after it is transferred to his foundation
I also doubt it will be fully upgraded to AF 1 standards
And regarding the soon to be retired AF1's other Presudential Centers are trying to acquire those this deal guarantees Trump a plane and a better plane than those 2

Update, deal going through. Caveat, Rogoway is a democrat war hawk with some severe TDS, though not as much as his pal Blake Allen.

Quote:

Work on the VC-25Bs has been repeatedly delayed, which has been a key contributing factor in the emergence of the general idea of an 'interim' Air Force One since Trump took office in January.

Sen. Duckworth also raised concerns "that requirements have been loosened" to try to accelerate work on VC-25Bs. Secretary Meink said he was unaware of any such changes to the Air Force One requirements, but noted he has only been in his current post since last week. There are certainly differences in the requirements for the VC-25Bs compared to the existing VC-25A Air Force One jets, which are based on older 747-200 aircraft. Most notably, the replacement presidential planes will not be able to refuel in flight, at least as far as is currently known, something that was previously seen as a vital feature, especially in the event of a severe contingency.
