Just heard FNC hosts describe a story of children writing their names on their arm so that when their body was recovered, their identity would be known.

No doubt there has been tons of heroism and trama. Many gut wrenching stories. But also seem to be some stories that are pretty counterintuitive. I dont think people are starting lies, prob just stories being misrepresented as they are passed along, like a game of telephone. Or perhaps these kids had identification markings due to prior camp activities etc.

Its very likely these children went from being asleep to fighting for their lives in rushing water in a matter of minutes.

Yeah, I sometimes wonder where some of the rumors come from in these events. Like the two girls that were supposedly found in a tree 15 mi down river, which gave a lot of people hope, but turned out to be fake news.

I suspect mostly "telephone game" at play, but sometimes I wonder if there are sickos out there who just want to mess with people by creating hoax/fake news.

One girl that was at Camp Mystic was on CNN yesterday, and talked about how she put on her name tag in case she was swept away so it would help people identify her.

I don't doubt they wore name tags. Like I said, prob a game of telephone where some kids higher up recall wearing a name tag in case they got separated from their group. Then its misinterpreted and retold as a story about kids marking themselves so "their bodies could be identified ".

The cabins were spread out. I doubt the poor souls down by the river had any time to reflect on their fate in that way. Honestly, I hope not, it just makes it that much worse. I hope they went from sleep to heaven as painlessly as possible.

Parents have gone through enough without thinking there might have been any window of time to get to safety alive, rather than time spent prepping for death.

Its awful to have young ones taken like this.
It's even more awful to know that they had some absolutely terrifying last moments.

Ah ok, that 16 year old was in a cabin on "senior hill" that wasnt taking on water. So I guess there was time in her case to have those type of thoughts.

In the comments someone said this was actually Center Point, TX downstream from Kerrville later that morning. I don't know if that is accurate, but that comment on the X post stating that had 200+ likes. Perhaps, someone familiar with Center Point might know. I certainly don't.

I started on this thread until I found out about the OB thread. There are some amazingly poor takes on her in those first 3-5 pages. Amazing they're still on there honestly.
