And far too many around the globe don't want to come to terms with what the Quran really teaches. To be non violent and non practicing as you say in the Islamic world is to be a "bad" or westernized muslim, largely ignoring what their holy book preaches. That's the difference. Westboro Baptists are not simply Christians that know the Bible "better." It's a ridiculous cult. In contrast, these terrorists are just following the laws of their sacred text. I used to love wearing my Red MAGA hat while I stood on the sidelines at Adult O35 Womens soccer games in the Northern Beaches. The amount of reeing when I'd show up was hilarious.

Looks like the father was a member of a gun club and had a recreational hunting licence.
Owned 6 firearms.

And as others are posting - ASIO had investigated this guy back in 2019.

From a personal, professional perspective, I know that ASIO keeps tabs on lots of details about Australians so, it will be interesting to see if we get any kind of online profile history for these shooters.

They definitely appear to be lone wolf operators but, I'm wondering who they were in contact with. ASIO will know. Whether they share that or not is a different matter.

When I saw the face of the younger shooter, I thought there was a chance he could be Pakistani but there aren't many Pakistanis in Australia.

Looks like the Pakistanis couldn't get the word out fast enough that the shooters were Muslims from India. Obviously Pakistan is going to try to make India look as bad as possible but, I thought it was an interesting clarification.

I'm still waiting to hear how they got to Australia, how long they've been there, etc. This site is indicating they might have had some sort of Afghan connection but that doesn't make sense to me.

Sajid arrived in 1998 on a student visa from Pakistan which he converted to a "Partner Visa" in 2001. The son was born in Australia.

If this attack would have been on Frishman Beach (lord forbid) the Hamas terrorists would have been taken out in under a minute by armed civilians.
