Matt Walsh went on Tucker to say any country that relies on the US for its existence, shouldn't exist. When will Trump loyalists throw him under the bus too?
He is repeatedly calling BS on Iran war rationale and expressing major concerns with it. Including the "we've been at war for 47 years" and "imminent nuke threat" stuff.‘If you can’t survive without being propped up by another government…then you SHOULDN’T EXIST’

MATT WALSH: Yeah. Now I'm not convinced at all that that is true of Israel. I'm not convinced at all.
TUCKER CARLSON: Yeah, I mean, I don't know either, by the way. And I think Israel seems like a perfectly functional and strong country, including with a strong economy that goes up and down. But basically, I mean, they have a robust tech sector. They've got a lot going for them. And so I think I kind of agree. I'm just saying they don't seem to feel that way, but who knows what the truth is?
MATT WALSH: I think that if we were to withdraw, I think we should withdraw all federal, all foreign aid from every country. You know, I don't think we should be doing it at all. I think. Yeah. And I think if we did that, I think Israel would still exist. I think if we took away all the foreign aid tomorrow, next week, two months from now, Israel would still be a country.
TUCKER CARLSON: Yes.

I understand being resolutely principled but in the real world, you can resolutely principle the plane of state into the side of a Mountain if you refuse to bank the plane at some point.
The problem is always that there are lots of other players and powers and interests and they don't care at all about your principles, but will gladly exploit them if achieve their own ends. What then if your principled stance results in avoidable harm?
The real world is tradeoffs, deals, compromises, because the opposition also has agency and goals and plans. Resolute uncompromising will makes you something everyone can ignore, an irrelevant factor to the negotiations going on around you. It's admirable if morally principled but that fades when in a pragmatic sense you end up failing to prevent harm being done when you may have had the opportunity to compromise to prevent the worst excesses of it. We don't live in any person's ideal world.

I discussed it earlier in this thread.
Massie's rationale is not necessarily bad but he was harping on the "backdoor" searches and abuse of Americans who happened to be part of a FISA 702 surveillance. This abuse ramped up to the next level in the Biden admin and there have been restrictions and safeguard put back in place.
Ending or not extending FISA during an active conflict with a state sponsor of terror seems incredibly shortsighted, dangerous and dumb - the hallmarks of Thomas Massie.
Folks could at least do some basic research before hopping on their jump to conclusions map.

I believe it was Rogers at the NSA who noticed the abuses of the Obama administration and he blew the whistler to the head of FISC and also shut down some of the FBI's access to NSA databases. Idiots such as Samantha Powers actually denied she made the 702 requests that used her identifier. Was she lying? Maybe but what if she was so loose in protecting her information, which other types of oversight would catch that?
I can understand the need for 702 but the access to it truly needs to be highly restricted to only a select few. And they should be designated so. Comey testified in 2017 that he had no idea of how many people in the FBI had such access. He should always know that number and their security clearances need to be reviewed every year.
Quote:
1000% support the restriction of access. I would say warrants but the judges even over these very sensitive requests which is not supposed to be how it works.
Tucker has promoted 5 candidates on his show recently.
— AG (@AGHamilton29) May 6, 2026
One dropped out (Paul Dans), another came in 6th in his primary (Zink), Putsch lost a primary tonight in Ohio by 70%, Fishback in FL is a con artist in serious legal trouble, polling at 6%.
Only one left is Thomas Massie.
