Re-read my second paragraph above. Your misguided complaint towards Massie should be directed at the GOP leaders that are not advancing a conservative agenda. Massie is but one fish in a big bucket of filth.

You are wanting Massie to move left so a moderate agenda can be advanced under the guise of conservativism, when you should be complaining about the left side of the GOP not wanting to compromise and move to the right.

If you were to rank all of the Congressmen based on how much you would like 538 copies of them running Congress, I'd put Massie well within the top 5%. He's certainly got his flaws and this is not high praises considering ~50% is the cutoff to the anti-American D's (redundant, I know), but he's certainly not at the bottom of the GOP list.

Why don't you apply this complaint to the entire rest of Congress, including the GOP side? Why the sole focus on Massie?

Your statement is 99% accurate for just about every Congressman, but somehow people get fixated on Massie and ignore the bigger issue.

I don't think Massie is perfect, nor a firm Libertarian but rather a conservative with Libertarian tendencies at times no matter how much flown-the-coop ignores my comments and pretends it to be so. But I see how the bulk of Congress works and don't complain about the one person that also has flaws but is at least pulling the right direction. And if that direction goes against the moderate GOP when the GOP is in the majority, maybe the complaint should be with the GOP for wasting their majority being moderate when they should do more.

With these big continuing resolutions and huge bills, it's very easy to say that a congressman/senator voted FOR or AGAINST something. I believe that this is by design.

Well, thanks for making my point that you have absolutely no understanding of the big picture and are a party over policy voter if you boil the discussion down to a my team vs your team analogy. And saying GOP = Aggies implies we must support them no matter what, which is flawed and hopefully you can at least be honest with that.

The better analogy is somewhat ideological peers (GOP) wanting to play a game of footsy with their counterparts (D's) that share little to no idological overlap, and the fans wondering why they are playing footsy when they said they were going to play football. And a player on one team (Massie and others) saying this game of footsy is wrong and refuses to help his team be the footsy winner.

To bring this back to friendly discussion, I think most of us posting here see a similar big picture but with slight differences. However, we disagree on how to achieve said big picture. There are countless ways to achieve it all with varying degrees of difficulty and risk, but at least we are all aiming for a similar direction.

Some have blind faith that the GOP will suddenly start being conservative if we keep giving them the majority and shun anyone that strays off the plantation. This used to be the anti-Trump crowd before 2016, but now it's a strange mix of pro-Trump and those that want to go back to times before Trump as seen in Cornyn supporters. Weird bedfellows.

Others have moderate faith in the GOP but only if the people take risks in supporting bullish conservatives that aren't the typical go along to get along types. Massie, Rand, Cruz, DeSantis, Chip Roy, etc supporters fit here, including me though because of the people in the blind faith group above I'm starting to lean towards the following group.

Others have zero faith in the GOP and their supporters and want to take a wrecking ball to the whole system and hope for a better reset. If the D's keep pushing and the GOP won't put the effort in to right the ship, this might be the inevitable outcome of peaceful divorce.
